Who's your Dr? I've never heard that before. I was given a box of Dolikan when I was released from the hospital and only took it for a day. There was a few times that first week that I took Advil too.

There are pharmacias on every corner if you need something, but I'm positive your surgeon will hook you up with everything you need. I was given an antibiotic and a few other things besides the pain pills that I took until they were gone.

Hi DivaDee,

I'm also scheduled to have surgery in Mexico, but for July in Juarez. Who is you surgeon? I'm being sleeved by Dr Rodriguez he is suppling me with pain meds and antibiotics. So I'm pretty sure your surgeon will do the same. However, I have heard a lot of post op people say that liquid tylenol is a must have after surgery. Cheryl

Hi Cheryl! I was going to Juarez but there is a special in Tijuana and I chose to go there. Dr Almanza is my doctor and I'm really excited just really terrified of the pain lol thanks for the tip of the liquid Tylenol as I will be sure to bring that with me. I think we can only have liquid medicines or crushed up pills...yuck I'm sure that's gross!!

I thought the same thing, but my patient coordinator told me all drugs were included in my package price. Meaning, antibiotics, pain meds, nausea, ..just bring gas x strips..with I have bought to take, but also have heard others say the strips didn't help..I'm still taking them with me just in case. And they give them to you to take home with you too ( antib. and pain meds, nexium too I believe).

Divadee,

how did you get involved with dr. Almanza? did you call their office directly, or did you go through someone else (a company like beliteweight). Also, did you have to put any money down before going?

I was just sleeved with Dr Almanza on the 26th. It wouldn't hurt to bring something liquid along with you. I'm allergic to morphine so my pain wasn't managed as well as I had hoped. If you stay in the recovery house there are nurses around all the time for you if you need more in your IV. You're not allowed anything chewed until after your leak test.

Also, I brought the Gas X strips and found they did nothing. Only thing that helped was walking and hubby beating my back. It was horrible pain from the gas.

I went thru MedicalTourism & there great!! Yes I did put a deposit down & I'll pay the rest of the money when I go for surgery. The company is great & very helpful!!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
