So I figured that Skirts would be a good clothing option to have since they are more forgiving than pants while losing wieght (no saggy seats!) So I went to good will (no sense in paying full price for something I might not be wearing for long) As I was browsing something caught my eye. A black shirt dress with a black and white grosgrain ribbon at the waist and a lovely burnout pattern on the hem. I checked the size...size 12...I have't worn a size 12 since...well since I was 12! I sighed and walked away from the dress. I kept thinking about it as I wandered the "Plus size/maternity" fashions section looking for skirts that are around my current size and could be taken in easily. I walked back to the dress and put it in my cart. Just to think about it. There is no way that I'm going to get to a size 12 right? No way I'd be happy THRILLED at a size 14/16 ya know. Just not in a sz 26/28 anymore. So There I was wandering around Good Will with two skirts, and a shirt dress I make look miniature. But I bought it. It's hanging in my closet now. What am I doing? I can't imagine myself EVER being a size 12 but there it is hanging in my closet...waiting for me.

I'm so totally crazy.

I guarantee you will be there before you know it!!

I have not had surgery yet...MAY 9th!!! However, I am one of the ones that has lost large quanties of weight in the past, but could never keep it off!! I lost 120 lbs one time doing WW and bought a size 12 as my incintive jeans!! I just knew one day I would wear them!! Well, when I lost my weight, I put them on and they fell off me!! I was shocked!! I NEVER dreamed that i would ever wear those jeans, let alone them be too big for me!

You will proably wear it, but just for a minute and it will then be too big!! LOL

Best of luck to you!! :)

Kelly

That's exciting! And I agree with Kelly - you will get in to it! I have done the same - garage sale today, bought some M-L shirts and cute 10 capri's and bremuda's for next summer. Because I KNOW I will get there - and so will you!

Well I think you will be in a size 12. Personally, I have 2 closets. One for clothes I can wear now and clothes I have not worn in years....I have like 12 pairs of jeans from 24 to 16. Yes when I met my husband 10 years ago, I wore a size 16. Now I am a size 26/28. I have this one dress it is a size 20. It still has tags on it. Looking forward to wearing it. Since it has never been worn. I want to wear my jeans again. So apple get in them dresses I am rooting for you.

Sugery date: 5/4/2011

P.S. It really home about the surgery today when I got the letter from the insurance company regarding the approval. I realize my dream for the last few years is actually going to come true.

Surgery is in 6 days blink.gifohmy.gif and I am having daily arguments with myself regarding if I should buy clothes in smaller sizes to have around or not. laugh.gif I think I'm going to see if my cousin (who just lost 60+lbs and is now in a size 8 so proud of her!) has any of her "fat" clothes still We're both really tall for chicks (I'm 5ft 10 she's just shy of 6ft) so I'm pretty sure her stuff will fit the length. Maybe I'll do that. I'm going back home in July I should call her and have her keep stuff if she hasn't gotten rid of it already.

I think you will absolutely wear and probably have to give it back to Goodwill b/c it is too big!! :) :) I had the same thought about skirts being more forgiving & I work where I have to dress up so I went to a couple of Goodwills over 2 weekends and bought 9 skirts spread out over 3 sizes! I also have set up the guest room closet with clothes that are currently too small for me....most were things I already owned plus my "new" skirts! Can't wait to start losing weight & trying them on. :)

I think it is fabulous to have a "goal" outfit!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
