Plication Surgery date April 30th

Recommended Posts

I

I am having Plication surgery done in TJ, MX on April 30th. I'm starting to get nervous. Any advice?

I am scheduled on the 28th in TJ. Which doctor are you going to? I haven't gotten nervous yet but I will undoubtedly be a bundle of nerves once the plane touches down in San Diego :-)

My advice would be to make sure that you have a variety of broths, Soups and Protein Drinks available to you when you return home. You may want to even take a few with you, just in case. I had surgery here in California so I'm not sure if you need something special for TJ or not. I know I posted a list previously of what to bring with you to the hospital but I'll try to remember it....chapstick, robe, slippers, hair clip, magazines, gas-x. I'll write more if I find my old post.

Take care and KUP

Thanks for the info....I'm going to start packing my bag and getting it ready for the big day :-) hopefully my kids will stay out of it, haha. I sure appreciate your list as I would hate to get there and kick myself for not having what I need. Any recommendations for the protein drinks and broths?

I tried lots of different Protein drinks and most companies will send you samples for a small fee. Unjury unflavored is great to mix with chicken broth or Soups. Unjury also sells a chicken broth that I also liked. Protein drinks are very particular to each person. I tend not to like the milk based ones so I stuck mainly with Isopure (Alpine Punch and Apple Melon were my favorite). I usually add a Stevia or Crystal Light to make them more palatable. Buy some now to try and see if there is one that you like.

I think I will try some out now, and I appreciate the recommendations. I am with you on the milk based, mainly as I tend to have lactose problems. Can you buy the Unjury at a store or is something ordered online?

I'm finding myself these days having worse food cravings (I'm an emotional eater, have a bad day??? Order pizza!!!!) as I know soon it will be time to put the food pacifier away and work at eating to fuel myself instead.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
