Obesity Off / Belighter

Recommended Posts

"Obesity Off" is Ann Marie Tiesi's new company. Anyone remember

Belighter? The compnay owned by the Tiesi's?

Well, just check out "Obesity Off" and you willl be dealing with the same person/company.

An important word of advice-chose your surgeon carefully, cut out the middleman and go directly through the office. If you deal with Obesity Off or Belighter, you will be very sorry.

Also-check out the offer on both sites for 24 hour nursing staffing to answer your questions by "Nurse Ann Marie". Ann Marie is not a nurse-ask her to show you her license-you will NEVER see it.

AMEN!!!! Did you read my post about Ann Marie?? What a nightmare. However....I LOVED Dr. de la Garza and his Monterrey staff...wonderful, all of them. They were so great to perform surgery despite the fact that Ann Marie had NEVER contacted them about it or us.

I've heard a number of bad things about this company. I've heard some good experiences too, but I can't imagine getting to a doctors office and being told they'd heard nothing about you after you spent all of that money. I probably would have started crying right there.

It's no wonder she changed the name of the company..

As much as $2,000 sorry in my case. She's just a recruiter, that's all.

I wish I could warn everyone about these people! Hindsight is 20/20. It has always taken me a while to get mad at people/situations. I paid belighter and NEVER heard from them again! The weird part is I don't think they made much off me. I think Dr Lopez charged about $9,000.00 either way. I guess he gave them a cut? Who cares. It is over. The girl Kristie who worked for them was sweet on the phone but lied about the whole thing. I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN! Great aftercare! The best advice is simply contact the doctor yourself.

Karma is a bitch.

I think coordinators are a good thing, when they do their jobs right. I am ecstatic with Ready4Achange.com and them setting up everything for Dr. Sanchez. They have been there for me to talk to, get info from, they have been patient and happy to change my dates around to make it work. I think they are great!! But I hear ya on what these people did. It is awful. I guess you have to check out the coordinators as much as you check out the surgeons when dealling with going overseas.

Amy, Ann Marie Tiesi is not a coordinator for a specific doctor. She's a recruiter. If you get sucked in by her all she does is set you up with one of a hand full of doctors that will work with her, she gets the money from you, or has you send it somewhere, keeps her cut, then sends you to a doctor, never to hear from her again.

I know first hand Dr. Sanchez will not use/work with her. Too many complaints, You just mention her name to Judy or Alma...the stories I've heard can not be repeated.

Ready4Achange is Dr. Sanchez's personnal web sight, and he has an excellent crew that work only for him...You pay him, he pays his people.

Ann Marie Tiesi is back in Monterrey and is working for Dr. Sanchez again. Ready 4A Change has left Dr. Sanchez!

Thought I would jump in here. I just checked the website of Ready4Achange and it looks like it's still connected with Dr. Sanchez. So, either the post is incorrect or they haven't had a chance to update the website. Does anyone know which it is? I just think it's important for us to keep accurate info on here as much as possible for visitors, etc. So, if someone knows what's going on, please post.

I will need to change the website for Ready 4A Change to reflect the changes and it may take me a few days. I am no longer associated with Dr. Sanchez.

I guess I should have also stated that I am one of the owners of Ready 4A Change. I plan on doing web changes all week.

I just wanted to throw this in too. I had Dr. De la Garza as my surgeon and he was wonderful and so was all of the staff at the hospital. I had a WONDERFUL patient coordinator Stephanie, she works there at the hospital and is from the States so she can understand what scares us when we want to go to a foreign country. But I went to the litenfree website and she was my patient coordinator. I feel really sorry for the people that get sucked into scams or all of that. I am just very lucky I had a patient coordinator that took care of me before the surgery and when I got there. I saw here everyday, so I didn't feel like I just paid and got left behind, she was there for me the whole time. If you have any questions email me molliebeth.smith@yahoo.com, I love to answer questions and tell about my experience.

Mollie

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
