Is there such a thing as loosing too much weight too fast. Sometimes I think, I am.

Not complaining, just wondering. One time it was 5 lbs. in a week.

Hey Lash,

I wish....lol!

There are some here that shed very quickly and I suppose there are pros and cons to fast and slow weight loss.

The way I look at it is that, as long as it is coming off, it is coming off!!! =]

I would drop 7-8lbs a week especially when I was really pushing Protein, and avoiding all carbs. My labs never suffered because of the rapid losing, my skin looks just the same as others that lost the same amount of weight over a slower amount of time so I don't believe that skin will hold out better if we lose it slower.

For me, as long as your labs look good, you feel good, you're getting in proper nutrition and fluids, I never thought I lost too fast. People used to gasp when I told them I dropped 80lbs the first 4 months, but now there's people dropping 100+ pounds in 3-4 months post-op.

Wow! that is great!!!! So what was a typical daily food intake for you when you was pushing the Proteins?? Did you use meat or shakes? and what kindof veggies did you eat?

mbridgeman27,

I started out at 275 in mid Jan. I am now at 218. Diet consist mostly Protein, eggs, lots of fish, skinless chicken, some carbs such as small amounts of grits, rice, and Pasta. Bananas and strawberry Protein shakes or smoothies for Breakfast a few times a week. (Bluebonnet Isolate whey Protein) exercise about 5 days a week (all aerobic, no weight training). strawberry lemonade (crystal lite lemonade flavor mix, fresh strawberries, few packs of equal, 2 qt. Water & blend).

meat, cheese, eggs, greek yogurt. I never used shakes. I just focused on eating as much meat as possible. I ate tons of beef and chicken, seafood was a once or twice a week thing. It's not my favorite food, and it was not something I ever prepared at home unless it was tuna or some crab mixture. Tilapia and mahi mahi are the only fish I really like, and I typically screw those up when preparing at home.

The main veggies I ate were green Beans, broccoli, and refried or pinto Beans.

I ate poached eggs with cheese, ground meats, tons of deli meat with cream cheese, chicken and beef made in the crock pot. I ate tons of leftovers. I'd prepared 2-3 cups of a specific food, and freeze individual portions for easy meals.

Wish I had your problem, but I will have my 3 month weigh in on 4/28 so I am going to push the Protein until that day about 10 days from now, bec I eat my share of carbs and I exericise 5 days a week and still down 52lb since being sleeved 1/26/11. But I feel my skin is doing really well, but my boobs are disappearing and I am not happy about that!

This coming tuesday will be three weeks since I had surgery and so far I have lost 35 pounds. I feel great so far, I've had no problems at all. Don't worry about losing weight too fast.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
