PLICATION DONE BY DR ROD ON 3-25-2011..HERE IS MY STORY

Recommended Posts

Hi Kerry,

I work out almost every day and have done so since mid-March (about 6 weeks post-op). I do Zumba, Kickboxing, treadmill, elliptical and swimming. I haven't done any overt abdominal exercises but that is mainly because I'm a total baby about my tummy. I also have a band over plication so I just feel like my tummy is more tender than someone who only had the plication. Make sure u ask ur doctor as well because different doctors have different waiting periods. Good luck to you and KUP!

Thank you Misti...i am getting so nervous...lol i think i havnt felt this feeling in a long long time. not this exact feeling but the excited jitterz...thanks girl and i will let you know how i do and good job on your weight loss..thats awesome and i hope to have good results as well...i do have a question...do you feel like you have good amounts of energy yet...like to work out or go to the gym maybe Zumba which is my fav...lol

i really do enjoy working out and sweating and feeling better and im hearing alot that people just cant yet.. i thought id ask you being your at 6 weeks

HONESTLY, KERRY..I didnt feel my normal amount of energy until about week 4 post op.. Im a big shopper and I would try to shop on saturdays of weeks 1,2 and 3 and I couldnt.. I would just go back to my car. Thats when it hit me that I had a major surgery and I was still weak. Week 4 all things changed. I was still drinking Protein shakes which gave me loads of energy.. remember to get your rest in. That is really important. I would get winded walking around my house. I had to learn to sit my arse down and let my body heal. But between 21 and 28 days post op, I got my energy back.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
