Perfectly normal, it will subside. Invest in a good tongue scraper. It's a side effect of your body going into ketosis with low carb/sugar free stuff. Don't be surprised if your breathe and body odor change as well.

I'm not sure what the symptoms are (try googling it) but sometimes people get "thrush" after surgery and need antibiotics to kill it. Not trying to scare you. I just came home from taking my husband to his 1 week nutrition class (he was sleeved 10 days ago) and one of the warning signs that you need to call your surgeon about is thrush. So I would google that and see if a white tongue might be associated with that.

Or it's like Tiffy said and is just the fuzzy Protein icky stuff going on. Hopefully that is all that is wrong!

I had it around the end of the first month and although it has subsided a little.. I still have it.

it is not thrush, and I have tried every prescription "magic" mouth wash there is..

I am hoping it will go away at some point .. but i have just learned to live with it

hopefully yours won't last very long..

I have it and am able to brush most of it away with my tooth brush. I may invest in a tongue scrapper to help get rid of it. Most likely what Tiff said, but if you are concerned then call your doctor.

I agree with Tiff, because it's on the tongue and not the gums and throat I would say it's from ketosis rather than thrush. As she said get a tongue scraper and try a mouthwash, I use an orange flavored as it seems to cut the bad taste best. You may have to do it 3 to 4 times a day to get relief, after each meal and before bed.

I'm going on 4 months out and by the end of the day I still get it.

Thanks guys. The tongue scraper has already worked a miracle. I can see the pink of my tongue. I will proudly accept this side effect of fur in exchange for a life free from this excess weight!
