Congrats Libra on the 90lbs gone

Losingjusme...I think you are doing a great job too, You are down almost 100lbs!! great job on all those crunches. Do you just lay on the floor with your knees bent, & hands behind your head?

I don't like this new board either:tired

Super yuck on the new board. The ads on the side are really distracting. But, I guess I can't complain about a free board which has provided me with a whole year of support and inspiration! But...still...ewww!

Libra-I am SOOO proud of you! What an accomplishment! 90lbs is incredible! I'm really happy for you!

Did you notice all the stars by our thread?! We're special!

Come on Libra...share some pics we're ready to Celebrate with ya!

Good job everyone. I'm sorry to report...I seem to be in a rut. I'm doing my best to kick it into gear. But, for some reason I am just hungry ALL THE TIME. I have never had good restriction so I can't blame that. I'm used to not being restricted. So, I'm wondering...do you think our metabolisms can get out-of-whack? That's what it feels like. I feel like my body is just screaming for food and I can't explain why. What do you guys think? Ever gone through something similar?

Yes I have LapBandit. Are you opposed to getting another fill? I find that good restriction does help with the head hunger quite a bit. Other than that I think it's just that psychologically we get tired of always eating right and just want to have those yummy decadent things that are so bad for us. It is a trecherous slope giving in to those thigs too. Once you start it's hard to stop, at least it is for me. The great thing about the band is that even if we take time off from "dieting" the band is always there waiting for us to be ready to work at it again. Look how long my rut was, 3 months!!! Now I am back on track, I don't always like that I can't eat that juicy burger but I sure like the results of the weight loss. Let's face it we all love food, during a moment of sanity we decided to get banded so that we could control our love affair with food, some days we just need to rely more on the band than our own willpower, maybe it's time for you to take a break and let the band do most of the work and get a fill. There is nothing like a little rapid weight loss to get you motivated and in control again

You said it Molly! If we were able to control our "food cravings" I don't think we would have needed the band. I have times when I just don't feel like watching what I eat anymore. Particularly...that time of the month...I want chocolate...I want chips...I want ice cream. It's hard to work around that when we spent most of our lives giving into our cravings.

Lapbandit...you can do it. Look what you've accomplished so far!!! Absolutely incredible!!! If you're anywhere near New Jersey, I'd be happy to come over and give you a kick in the butt! LOL!!

BTW, I'll post pics shortly. I just went to my brother's engagement party, so I have recent pics! My before's are kind of scary so be prepared! YIKES!!

Um, did anyone notice the "rep power" thingy in the right corner of everyone's posts? What the heck is that?

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
