Road to "TWOterville"

Recommended Posts

Well it seems there are several of us who are currently trying to get to twoterville. So if you are one of us trying for it please tell us your goals and we can support each other as we try to get our tricksy scales to be nice and cooperative.

NOTE: So many of the people who participate in this thread have made it in to twoterville that we have really morphed to include passing thru twoterville as well as into it. This has happened over time, we keep growing, lol, but in a good way

I'm working on it. I'm fewer than 10 lbs away and I can't wait. I got a small fill today so hopefully that will be just enough to push me over. I need to start packing my bags 'cause I'm moving to Twoterville!

I'm in the suburbs of Twoterville. I'm hoping to move into the 'ville by next month!

I've got a VG with 6 cc's and I think I finally have some restriction. I think I may ask for a little more fill at my next appointment though. Perhaps 1 cc more and I'll be good to go!

I have about 16 pounds to go and I'm really trying to get there. Once I do I think I'll feel like I'm really starting to accomplish the dream of making my way to "overweight" status!! I'm not thinking I'll ever get to a "normal" weight but if I can atleast drop "obese" from my medical history I will feel wonderful!! I've dropped down from "super obese" down to just plain old "morbid obese". Funny how that's exciting but sad at the same time!!!!

Good luck everyone...I hope we're all moved into our new neighborhood soon. We'll throw a Twoterville block party when we're all there!!!!

I guess I'm in another county if we're talking suburbs and all. hahaha. I can hardly wait. I can't remember the last time I was under 300 pounds, it was THAT long ago. I still remember the day I found out I was 300 pounds and I started crying my eyes out. Now I'm 7 pounds from 400 pounds and I can't let myself get that far. YIKES!!!!! Back to 300 I'm going!

Glad to have so many people riding with me! All hop aboard the bus to twoterville! hehehe

:clap2:

Josette,

27 July is DH and my 22-year anniversary. So, I think it's a great day to be banded!

Wheetsin can we make this a sticky maybe? The onderland folks have a sticky....:guess

Yay, ok so shall we make a format for a progress chart for our signatures? Or do we just want to post our progress on this thread? Give me feedback.

Ok so I was 317, then my tom happened (too much ice cream) and yoyo'd between 317 and 320 for a week and a half!!! Ok so I am back on the losers track and am back to 317 yay !!! It's all progress from here, I am hoping to make good progress in the next 4 weeks. I want to be in twoterville come august.

So, how's it going for everyone? I'm not sure I'm making much progress lately. I'm eating properly but haven't gotten my workouts in as I like. My job keeps interfering with my life!!!

Ahhhh....I would just LOVE to be out of the 3's at my next appointment on the 14th. If I can get to 299 then that will mean I've got 8 pounds left until I hit 100 lost!!!!! Can you believe it???

I've got 15 pounds until Twoterville...can it be done in 3 weeks????

I know I have under 20 pounds to go till I cross the border. Do I need to do a currency exchange?

I am fast approaching, and hopefully the liquid diet and the surgery will help kick my butt over the line. It will be so exciting to be in the 200's again. I have a friend who used to talk about how fat she was. Made me insane, cause she was in the low 200's. Maybe someday I too can piss off a 300 pound person by talking about how fat I feel in the 200's. LOL joking of course.

Wow lapbandit you have lost a lot!!! :clap2:

As for possible, anything is possible, 5 pounds per week is a lot, but if you are a chunky loser like some on here it could very easily happen if your body cooperates. I am looking at 18 in 4.5 weeks and not sure if I can make it, but I sure am gonna try :) All we can do is our best, but dangit it sure is nice when our bodies cooperate and lose like they are supposed to :)

Hmm, currency exchange, not sure, it's been so long, whoever gets there first tell the rest of us ;)

I love this thread! I'm so glad there's a place for us to check in. I really need support in getting to Twoterville, plus I hear there's a mini-depression that can accompany it (i.e. it's a great accomplishment but knowing there's much more to go can be hard) and we can be there for each other if that happens.

For me, it's TOM and the scales haven't moved in 5 days. Super frustrating since I'm doing everything I can with good food choices, exercise and Water. Anyway, I know it's going to come off, but I'm so looking forward to it. I'd LOVE to be at 299 for my next visit to the doc on July 18th, but that's probably not realistic. My real goal is by my birthday on August 12th.

See you all in Twoterville!

I am hoping to be out of the 3's and into the 2's by the end of July. It's nice to have company and support on the journey downwards.

Yay, I am so glad there is a group of us :)

As for depression, there is a little of that everyday, knowing how far I have left to go, watching my friends and family enjoy things I can't have and or shouldn't have. Watching the scale stay stuck. Ah well, they will move and there will be glorious days ahead. Let's all focus on what we have accomplished :success1: 37.5lbs here and a total of 8" off of my hips waist and bust! yay

I'm STUCK, STUCK, STUCK. Stuck at 312 for a solid week now. My calories, Water intake and exercise are perfect, so I guess it's just a plateau. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some downward movement within a couple of days!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
