Hello I am a newbie, and am glad I found this site. I initially pursued the lap band then I was introduced to the sleeve. My insurance just started approving the sleeve in January so I am excited. THey also required a 12 month nutrician plan all of a sudden, which I also finished in Jaunary. Just got my date today!! YAY! May 10th....can't wait. I was wondering how long before you can return to work? I would also likw to know how the adjustment was going back to work. Planning meals and such.

I am still on medical leave, 6weeks medical leave. I will return the week of April 11th, with my FMLA I was given the option to go back as part time if I don't feel 100% better. I don't eat much, I can't :( I am suppose to be off of liquids but I can't eat much, not even mushy foods. Then again everyone is different, I read that someone was already eating an entire egg!

I stayed one day. If you have complications you'll stay 2. The most discomfort is the first day! I could barely move. But you'll be sleeping a lot during your stay at the hospital and when you go home.

I didn't have complications, I stayed 3 but that was doctor's protocol. He said because if there is any leakage or anything like that it would happen with in the first 3days and they rather have me be in the hosp where they can get me in O.R stat. He is great. Dr Nagles in Northwestern Memorial Hosp in Chicago, IL

The first a day or 2 that's how I was. I didn't wanna drink my liquids. But after day 3 it got easier for me. After thr liquid diet I starter my mushy food diet and at first I hated it but now it's not that bad. You just have to find the right foods. I usually eat already made baby food. And I'm starting to eat mashed potatos so it's not that bad. I still have about 2 weeks left of the mushy food then I'm on regular food! :) good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
