I have been sick the past two days. I haven't had much to eat period. I have tried to eat high Protein foods but not any extra Protein. I know I should have more but I can barely eat anything right now. I wasn't told how many calories to have in a day so I just try to eat things with little sugar which is very hard. I agree with you.

I have tried them all the lowest in cal is Advant edge and it has 15 Pro. The reason the Dr. put me on this is because its suger free. I am only allowed 500 to 700 cals a day and this is hard to do with out have the lowest cal count that you can find so that you still get 60 gram Protein a day........It is so hard...........I am still not controled yet my mind takes me back to old habits.....

Goodness! 500-700 cal a day seems like pretty strict a year after surgery! I'm sure your doc knows what he's doing but I'm sure it is hard. It looks like you've come far in the past year so keep up the good work. My doc doesn't want me to count calories and he only has me do 25-30 g of Protein a day. But that seems pretty low from what I've read on this board. I just can't wait till I can eat some real food with real protein rather than having to drink it in a shake. I'm only 8 days out and I'm starting to hate drinking anything - especially a Protein Drink. But I guess I better get used to it and get over it or my hair will fall out!

You got it! Slim Fast killed my gallbladder but EAS Advant Edge is great! The chocolate fudge tastes good and it's very well-balanced.

Hi, I will be banded on the 21st of Aug. and I am excited to get started. My heavest is 348, at Dr. Spivak in Houston, 317.

Where did you find the EAS Advant Edge? I too bought the Slim Fast and will return it.

First off...good luck w/ surgery. Pretty soon, huh?! That's exciting for you! I get the EAS Advant Edge right from my grocery store and local pharmacy in the "diet" section. You can also order it online from www.eas.com

Of course there are lots of really good products out there, but I like these because I don't have to mix the powder...it's ready to drink and it's nutritionally balanced.

Best wishes for your surgery!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
