GFG Club - Guess Funny's Apron Weight

Recommended Posts

can you imagine me, pants around my ankles balancing on the corner of the orange bin, kiwis rolling everywhere, as I try to get an accurate reading on that flimsy little grocery store scale. Do they even go past 3 pounds? I think I would break the chain. Then all the oranges would be ruined. It would just be a disaster.

My guess 1s 15.5 lbs. That's looks about the same as my apron so this will be interesting!

yeah...all of this really has me totally in love with these doctors and staff, as dissapointed as I am. It just is amazing that they would even take the time to get another doctor involved to make sure that this is right. I appreciate that more than they can imagine. Yay Dr. Cardenas!!!

I know deep down you are disappointed to not be having the apron surgery - but Divine Intervention indeed is very much in existence....how sad and broken-hearted your family would be if something happened to you on that surgery table! I will keep you in my prayers for the lapband surgery on the 10th....hugs!

Dear Amy... I too share the pain of the apron. Honestly I have found that even sitting at the computer for 15 mins results in horrific pain. I think this apron is cutting off circulation but X-rays and CT scans show there's also a problem with the nerve endings in the lower back. That is why I have such pain in the groin area and down the quadricep muscle. I wanted to have banding or even RNY but made the choice to care for my Father while he was battling lung cancer. We lost him in September and I haven't had the strength to fight for my own health since. He was a Marine and now with my Mom gone too it's just really sad. I haven't gained any weight but I am really hurting. To top things off my husband just lost his job through no fault of his own after an auto accident. He's a volunteer firefighter and the love of my life. We'll make it through this, but right now I can't schedule a surgery I can't pay for. I also think I really need this apron cut off to help the pain. How can one exercise when she can't move? I don't know who to talk to... hoping you might be able to discuss this with me. I look just about like those pictures above. I am a little confused about your situation... I think your doctors were going to go ahead with the surgery before the band but have decided not to, right? I too believe in Divine Intervention. My prayers will be with you. Thanks so much,

Suzukimom

Hugs to you Amy. Your kids are so lucky to have such a wonderful mommy that can take on any situation that comes her way. I love your attitude and your spunk!! This is bittersweet, I know. The Lord does answer prayers and this is His way of shutting one door and opening another one. Your eyes are open to see it. YEAH.....your going to have your band soon!!! :clap2: Good for you. :fish: Keep your chin up and don't hold back any tears.....it will do you some good.

Hey, maybe we could vote on how much you will weight after you get home? Just out of curiosity, did the docs ever speculate as to how much they thought they would be taking off for your apron surgery? I'm very intrigued by the whole thing. I have a feeling I will need a Tummy Tuck myself someday.

Tricia I am. And yes...last night I cried. But I got it out. And I am scared I won't be able to figure out the last $1k. I have a week. Something will come to me. I am just praying really hard about it. It will happen.

Amy, I am sorry that the apron surgery won't happen as planned but how exciting that the band is only a couple of weeks away.

Can you get someone to cash a check for the 1K for you and hold the check until you get your payroll check?

Congrats and best wishes!

No, cause we do not use checks. We do everything electronically. :) Debit cards and online payments. It is an account that bank of america offers. Paperless account, and we get special perks. That has come back to bite me a number of times so far.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
