I am officially in a stall mode. I just started the puree phase too, but do not see many options in that area. I already took some kobeba (2 fingers size), tried hummus without oil. I cooked some puree of potatoes, but it was a flop as i added too much milk, and what i got at the end was more like a Soup. I also eat some nuts (about 5) for a snack, or some low fat cheese. I hope this stall phase washes away.

As you all know, in the middle east many things revolve around the dining table. Since i cannot and do not want to eat, i find the gathering around the table ridiculous.

Everybody is eating, munching, drinking, and i am not. What i do is get a glass of Water with some ice, and add a slice of cucumber or carrot to give it a flavor, and i keep sipping for the whole gathering.

Since i do not eat, drink, or smoke, i get bored very quickly. To be able to whistand such gahering, i need my brain to be stimulated all the time.

I have not yet reached the weight that allows me to freely and regularly exercise, all i can do is walking on a treadmill and only a couple of minutes on the elliptical machine

Yes i know that Zeus , it can be very hard because that is our time to be with our loved ones and food is what brings is all together. Sorry u r stalling. Maybe u can try some fool? Without the bread of course. Don't put too much garlic and only a table spoon of olive oil and instead of using a mortal and pessel u can try blending it in a food processor for smoother texture. As far as the mash potatoes. A healthier way is instead of adding milk, try skim milk with a touch of olive oil for flavor and some basil or herb to kick it up instead of salt. I hope this helps. I'm a certified chef if anyone needs recipes ! ????

I'm a Brit in Beirut. Still in hospital 3 days post-op, but - all being well - will be discharged on Sunday.

Medical facilities here are fantastic, expertise second to none and my surgeon, Dr. Safadi, is simply wonderful.

Hi Janet,

I met Dr. Al Safadi last summer but decided not to have the surgery in Lebanon as AUH was too expensive hospital for me. Hope you are enjoying my lovely Beirut. cheers

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
