Food amounts by time

Recommended Posts

I just wonder why it's so much harder to eat in the morning versus the evening. Anybody else experience this. Maybe 4-5 bites at Breakfast if dense Protein, maybe 1/2 of a sandwich with very little on it or less at lunch and bigger amount ( not too much though) in the evening. Now, of course, it varies widely by the type of food. chicken is still the hardest thing for me to get down or dense meat at 8 mos out. Any comments? Also, do any of you eat very small amounts several times a day instead of 3 bigger meals. Seems to have evolved into this but don't want to become a grazer either! Worry about regaining ultimately.

Well I'm not sure if this will answer your question or not but here it goes. . .I really don't know why it's harder to eat in the mornings, i'm the same way. .. i eat instant quaker oats with Water and that 1/2 cup is very very filling, however during the day it's alot easier and i can eat lots of things, for lunch i can eat a whole wheat tuna sandwich and a small apple with the peel. Then I can eat a whole lean cuisine at dinner time without any problem. . other times I can eat 2 eggs with 1 toast, or a whole fried plantain, 2 chicken legs or 3 wings no problem, 2 tblspn of rice or noodles, i snack here and there and of course the slider foods i can manage the WHOLE bag of whatever (I try really hard not to do that) I'm 13 months out and have not gained any weight but i'm not losing either. . . so what i'm trying is a diet. . . 1000 ADA meal plan and increase the exercise. . . will let you know how that goes. . .I usually do only 3 meals and try really really hard not to snack. have to really think hard when that happens . .depending on my mood however, the head hunger will win. . . darn it! does that help a bit?

I am only 3 and a half months post op but I find it hard to eat anything till the evening around 6ish. I make myself eat a piece of fruit in the morning around 10am and maybe some cheese in the afternoon.. but in the evening I really have no problem. I can only eat small amounts so I eat dinner in 3 sessions so I can get at least 3oz of chicken or pork in plus a veggie. my surgeon doesnt see a problem with me breaking my meals up but also I am only eating 4-500 calories a day. if that. Wish I could help more....

Even before my surgery I was never a morning eater. I mentioned to my nutritionist that eat seemed my stomach opened more as the day went on and she said that is common amongst her patients. I drink a 30gm of Protein Drink at 630 in the morning ( it has become my coffee) and then I eat a Greek Yogurt around 930 am . Then lunch around 11. Some days I have an afternoon snack and some days I just wait and have dinner depending on my calorie/carb count for the day.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
