i think this is a bad thing

Two weeks out....just starting pureed food. I am craving crunchy foods....I put them in my mouth, crunch them up, spit them out. Ideas? Am I crazy??? I don't think this is healthy at all, but after doing two mouthfuls, the need to crunch goes away. I never swallow them, I rinse my mouth out afterwards. Thoughts?

We could do like melba toast or the WASA crackers. They turn to mush as soon as you start chewing and my doctor allowed them. It definately helped with the crunch need. I spread them them with the laughing cow cheese.< /p>

I ate a few Ritz crackers the other day. They disolve into mush before you swallow them. My doctor said a few were fine. They were delicious. salty and crunchy.

If you are crazy then so am I! I would never swallow at this stage, I'm way too scared of doing that. However, I too, needed to crunch just once!!! LOL

Did that here too. Wanted the crunch, but too nervous to swallow anything other than liquid at that stage. Heck, today at 2.5 months out I still do that when I get a 'crunch attack'. Eat healthy otherwise. Someone once mentioned Pork rinds in another section here. No carbs and gives you that crunch you crave. Kinda gross to think what they're made of. Plus if you do swallow them they tend to 'creep up' your throat. So not a good swallowing food. Cures the crunch need though.

I think more people did this in the early weeks than admit it LOL!! I did it once, somewhere around the three-week mark, with a piece of steak. You know, you get so bored with the same stuff and it smelled sooooo good so I chewed and chewed the heck out of that thing until there was no flavor left, then spit it out, and it was DELICIOUS.

I'm in my second week and have been 'sneaking' reduced-fat cheez-its. I figure if I can take chewable vitamins, then I could do these too, since they dissolve easily as well. I limit myself to maybe 8-10 crackers throughout the entire day - but I just NEED something to crunch!!!!! But don't want it to inhibit my weight-loss, either, so I'm really careful not to go anywhere near what's considered one serving (which is 29 crackers). Otherwise I'm sticking to this diet like glue! Glad to know I'm not alone. Really thought so! :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
