Oregon-Portland Metro Area

I am actually a Regional Corporate Nurse for an Assisted Living Company out of WA. So I travel up and down the I-5 Cooridor frequently. Between my traveling, the mini meals and the fact that I am Gluten Intolerent, food is rather challenging for me. I sometimes find myself eatting snack foods instead of real meals.

My step mom is on here somewhere too. We where sleeved at the same time with Dr. Aceves, she went down for emotional support then decided to get sleeved. So she took my bed on day 3. She looks great!

Hi

Traveling and trying to eat could be a real problem for you. I just got home from Portland. My daughter lives there and has a compression fracture in her T8 Vertebrae so I went up and helped her with a few things today. My son also lives in Portland so we all went over to his house and had a BBQ.

We are heading to Reno on Thursday. We are going to Hot August Nights. They have over 5,000 classic cars and street rods. We will be there for 4 days. It is always a lot of fun. We have 3 street rods ourselves. But we are flying down, and making a vacation of it. We will stay in touch. Hugs, Suzanne

Hi! So excited I found this site! I live in Gresham, OR. I had my sleeve done by Dr. Ortiz in Tiajuana, MX in June. It was the best thing I have ever done! Let me know if you get a group together.

Glad to find fellow Oregonians. I'm having my sleeve done in a week (mid-October) in Portland. My cousin in TX was sleeved 1-11 & she's done so well. She convinced me to choose the sleeve over other bariatric surgeries. Hope to hear from ya'll (can you tell I'm originally from TX)! Jan

Dr Patterson's office is next door to Dr Halpin's in Bldg 2. I will be going to monthly support groups at Good Sam starting in January. If you are interested, find out if you can attend those & we can see each other monthly. My husband is considering getting sleeved but he's not ready to make the commitment yet.

I just feel great. My doctor prescribed 90 pain pills & I only needed one the night I got home. It's only been one week since surgery & I have the energy to walk every day 30 mins/day. I was a wreck before the surgery. I had gained so much weight & was so out of shape. No more!!

Look forward to meeting you. I actually live in McMinnville so I don't get to Portland too often but I will be attending support meetings.

Take care,

Jan

I have bad knees so I'm starting deep Water arobics to start but what I really want to be able to do is the Zumba. That looks like so much fun. I actually live out Hwy 26 and 185th Ave so you're really not that far from me and I go through or around McMinnville everything we head to the beach cabin. Can't wait to meet you.

Small world...we live in the neighborhood behind the Greek Deli, we've been there for 12 years. I bet our paths probably crossed at one time or another and we probably didn't even know it.

I used to drive my son to Rock Creek campus 3x weekly & shop at Albertson's. I come to Beaverton at least once a month b/c I have good friends there. Hopefully we'll meet soon. Take care & keep me updated on your surgery. Jan

Hi All! I just had my sleeve in TJ on July 16, 2012. I am so hungry right now all I can think about it eating, but I can't even drink very much. My daughter made a delicious vegetable broth for me this afternoon and I felt great after that, but I am so hungry still. I also have a lot of Water retention. I gained 27 pounds in a week that I had nothing but Clear Liquids and today I got up and 15 of that was gone. Did anyone else have such a massive gain while in the hospital? This is definitely not easy. I hope it gets easier. I have been kicking myself for doing something so drastric when I should have just been able to control my appetite, but I guess that's why we all are here. I live North of Vancouver in the La Center/Woodland area and would really like to meet some other people who have chosen this wls route. Please write to me and let me know if you would like to get together for some water Soup or something. Hahaha!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
