Amazing story, thanks for sharing! This forum is the best, I too find that my friends but especially family are sick of me going on and on about my weightloss journey, so this is my lifeline!

See how great you are! Helping so many of us and I for one appriciate it. You've got friends here. I think that will be the worst part for me... I am usually pretty concerned about other ppls opinions of me... stupid I know. I will definatly be willing to make new friends! Thanks for sharing

I did want to ask how your skin has recovered so far.

That was a beautiful post. I feel like I am losing so slowly at only 7 weeks out. I can't wait to look back in 9 months and see all the little things get better.

I SO enjoyed reading your story!

It has inspired me to put down on paper, my struggles with weight(just for myself).

Seems like a good idea for anyone with our struggles to do this.,

I know for me, it helps me see just how long it has been going on and what i finally had to do to get a handle on it.

Thanks again for the inspiration!!!

Sleeve date Feb.2 2011

Ooh...thank you for sharing your story. It is nice to know that other peoples' supporters are getting sick of hearing their stories, too, and that this is somewhere we can go to find support from one another. Congratulations on your success - keep up the great work!! :)

Your story really resonated with me. My dad's side of the family had a lot of heart problems, and my dad died at age 50 of a heart attack. The fear of dying young was a major motivator for me to get sleeved. You have given yourself many extra years of life with your sleeve. And you will look fab all those extra years too! Thanks for telling your story and please keep posting!

What a great story from beginning to end. There is such a dramatic difference in you appearance from you pre-op to present picture. You look years younger. Does you husband think he has a new wife? smile.gif He does actually. Not only in appearance, but mentally, emotionally and with greater energy. You have such a positive attitude and you confidence comes through in your message. I hope to have my Surgery this Feb. I go to the MD on 1/28 and will find out then. I am like Irene. I will be a band to sleeve revision. In fact, she and I have similar stats.

Your story is so informative and inspiring. I need all this as I get ready for surgery. Thanks again.

Cathy

What an amazing story! I did read the whole thing. I found it inspiring as I prepare for my April 18th surgery date. Thanks for sharing!

Well thank you to all of you who responded. I'm so happy to know that my story helped some of you. I know I did TONS of reading and learning before surgery, and I still am. It's just now I'm searching for all the posts from people at least a year out, to learn what life will be like then for me. I see far fewer people posting though that are farther out. I am keeping this in mind, and plan on sticking around to continue helping others if they have questions.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond!! I added a picture that was taken today of me. Before at 354, and today at 225

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
