I am 3 weeks out too. I was wondering the same thing. I also wonder what most people had lost by week 3 & 4.

I am 2 weeks out tomorrow and was told I could start cheese, yogurt, scrambled eggs, Peanut Butter. I was 242 when I was approved for surgery I had to get to 230 before they would schedule my surgery I lost another 5 pounds during the pre op diet and today I weigh 206. I have been losing about 2 pounds a day.

I am about 2.5 weeks post-op and started 'mushies' this past week - scrambled egg chopped up, tuna salad chopped up, tilapia chopped up, mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, yogurt (plain or vanilla), sugar free or fat free pudding, creamed Soups, creamed spinach, baby pastina, cream of farina, ricotta cheese... They told me to put whatever I was eating in a 4 oz dixie cup and then dump it on the plate to eat. I barely finish 1/2 of it but most is staying down...

I am 3 weeks post op and was wondering what are other's eating or have eaten at this time period?

Monday I'll be 4 wks out and I get to try chicken, beef, and turkey blended w/gravy!! I'm kinda scared to try it, but I'm gonna try a recipe I saw. I was a couple oz of cooked or canned chicken, a tbsp of ceasar dressing, a couple sprinkles of parm cheese and blended up!! Chicken Ceasar w/out the salad.... I'm curious to see how it goes down.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
