Had to share!

:faint:  ;) :Banane10: :spider:  :opps2: :frusty:

I just gave into a craving and now I feel like crap and had to share. I went to Sonic and got a strawberry Cream Pie shake...and yes...it's gone!!! :Banane09: I know, I know. I don't do it all the time but now I feel like crap for doing it. Maybe it's just me coming off my monthly visit from the "Bitchinator" :drama: . So I think I might be able to forgive myself. But then again that can just be an excuse and not a good reason.

"I promise I will not do this again!" :)

Anybody else eaten something today that they wish they wouldn't have??

I probably do something like that every day. Maybe not a shake, but something. You're doing great on your weigh loss, and I'm a firm believer in NOT trying to be perfect. I think it leads to shame, then more emotional eating. You'll get different feedback from other people, so take what makes sense to you, and leave the rest.

You can make better choices at the next meal, right?

Not a problem today....yet, but the night is still young LOL.

I have to admit I usually eat at LEAST one thing daily that is a poor choice.

LOL! I have problems dealing with the "Bitchinator" too! Every day we just have to do our best and just try to make the best choice we can when we have a craving for something on the "off limits" list! Don't beat yourself up...I've cheated once too because of that darn "Bitchinator"...ice cream birthday cake, a big ol' slice too. But, I had to pick myself up and dust myself off and go on. The following month I HAD, HAD, HAD to have some chocolate so instead of another ice cream cake disaster, I had a small piece of chocolate and told myself to be happy with it and I was! Hang in there! You're human!

It happens, you shouldn't let it get to you. Just keep moving forward. If you have a sweet tooth you should try weight watchers and smart start stuff. In imho they are just as good. Go to the icecream section.good stuff and not nearly as bad as eating the real thing. of couse these shouldn't be eaten everyday but help with cravings and there not so fattening. by the way I had a sugar free fudgicle and about 4 hrs later ate a weight watchers icecream sandwich:o . so yeah I did go over board myself. your doing great:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: !!! keep it up.

You act as though you're the only one. I think most of us have our weeker moments, but that's why we got banded. Without this tool, those moments would be able to take over a lot more. Forget it and move on. I think that every now and then we deserve a treat as long as we don't go overboard and sabotage our journey. I think we can all relate.

I don't know if this is a dieters myth but if you are on a consistant level of calories, carb and fat intakes during weight loss, a little blip here and there is pretty much ignored by the body. Your worst enemy is your MIND. Don't psych yourself out with a few indulgences - in fact it's good to have them but it's not an excuse to give up.

Just think Kathy, if not for the band, you may have had a super sonic cheese burger and chili cheese tots before the shake...I would have!!! We all do it, and I think giving in on occasion keeps us sane. Look at all the improvements you have made in your eating lifestyle, not the odd treat you let yourself have. This is for life, and I personally would not enjoy a life with not ever having a milkshake again. The lapband allows us to enjoy one, or some of one, and have the ability to begin again. Ain't it great??!!:high5:

Quit beating yoruself up, and be human with me!!!

Kat

Don't beat yourself up over it...we all make poor choices sometimes. But I don't think it's the occasional unwise choice that makes a difference...it's the everyday choices that we constantly make. We don't have to be perfect (and isn't that a good thing!!). Just start again tomorrow and do the best you can. It's all any of us can do.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I didn't feel as if I was the only person that did this or that it was really the end of the world I just got really pissed that I did it and the guilt really got to me! I just had to vent about it! I felt better after I posted this thread. Getting it off my chest and seeing it in writing made me feel better soon after. So will it happen again? Maybe, maybe not. But as bad as I felt the other day when I did it I am sure it will be awhile before I do a repeat! Maybe if I get another craving I can make a better choice instead of the one that I made the 1st time! :)

I'm lucky to have discovered that I'm lactose intolerant! so I won't have trouble with milkshakes... but that sherbert sure is good! Hopefully, I'll find a vice that isn't such a vice... like... Protein Shakes lol....

I'll be banded on July 5th.... wish me luck!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
