I am 5'7". I don't have a goal weight yet but 175 would put me at 100 lost, so we'll go with that.

For those of you who have "shrunk", what do you think is up with that? I used to be 5'4'' but now am only 5'3''. Maybe my extra weight caused my vertebrae to squeeze together? I've heard of old people shrinking, but not of fat people shrinking!

Anyway, even though I'm only 5'3'', my goal is 150-160. I am a size 10 at 165. I'd LOVE to get to be a size 8, but I'd settle for 14! I'm about 180 at a size 14.

Yes, I too am shrinking - I used to be 5'5" but now am barely 5'4". (they wanted to write down 5'3" at my first apt but I told them to try again).

I was told for my size I should be @120#s.

My goal at the drs office is officially 150#s.

I would be very happy at 190#s.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
