I am with you on that one. My nut told me to try chewing on ice cubes. It helps a little, but can't wait for real food. Do you feel really weak too?

I have to say this is my least favorite time. I can't wait until Monday when I can eat.

I am so with you on this. I was sleeved on Dec 1st and can start mushies on Wednesday. I can't decide if I am going to have mashed potatoes or scrambled eggs first. But I will wait as I do not want any complications. I had to make chicken salad for my husband so he could have something to eat. Since I can't taste anything at this time....he said it turned out awful.:o He will also be happy to see me move up to more substantial food other than Protein Drinks.< /p>

Have you tried sugarfree gum? I know many surgeons don't want us chewing gum, but that might satisfy you until you can actually get some solids in. Check with your doctor first.

I was sleeved on 11/30/10 too. I was on liquids for the 1st week after surgery. The next 2 weeks I'm on pureed-consistency..my Magic Bullet is getting a workout - cottage cheese takes on a new meaning when it's been pureed! 1/2 egg white, applesauce, sugar-free pudding, pureed green Beans. Nut also suggested pureed tuna, chicken or fish but I'm scared. Had 1Tbs pureed chicken last night & scared out of my mind that it would get stuck, but all good.l At least I'm getting some variety from broth.

Sleeved on 11/29/10.....Going through the same thing.....I wanted to chew something so bad I put a piece of food in my mouth and chewed it but spit it out. My doc does it different...first week clears..then full liquids (blended).....and now tomorrow I start pureed food. I am so excited let me tell you!!!! Hang in there, it sucks initially but you welcome every single stage.

My doctor must be really strict, sleeved on Monday, was in hospital two days because of nausea. I will be on Clear Liquids for two weeks then a month of full liquids, two weeks on pureed and then on soft foods until I reach 6 months post-op. The clear liquids are killing me, the only thing I have been able to drink is Water with flavoring in it. Tried chicken broth and added ProCel which was disgusting so just ate plain chicken broth. nectar should be in today so I'm praying that it taste good or getting Protein in isn't going to be easy...would love mexican food about now! On the gum issue my NUT said if you accidentally swallowed it then it would have to be surgically removed...I'm staying far away from gum.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
