How is "personal conversation" different then thread?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've been getting a lot of "Personal Conversation" sent from people who have quoted my post and left a reply on a thread I posted. How is a personal conversation any different then someone just replying to a thread? Am I suppose to be writing theses people back? They don't say, and I don't know how to do that.

Thanks for any replies.

I think it is is just a "notification" that they are quoting you or replying directly to something you posted. I doesn't require you to write back...it's more of a notification. I think you can turn that off in your preferences, but I'm not sure how to tell you to do that.

It's just a notification that a topic or reply you started has been replied to by another user. You can change your preferences in your profile setting to turn off the notifications. I like to keep mine on so I can go back and answer any questions that might come up or thank a user for their posts.

A personal conversation should be when you send a private message to someone. I am going to have to watch for that. I know I read that someone has quoted me, but I don't remember whether it's called something different than when someone sends me a private message.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
