Hi all. I was sleeved on Nov 17th 2010. I have been feeling pretty good and doing the liquid diet. I haven’t had too much pain after the initial 4 days. A couple of days ago my lower left abdomen started hurting. It was kind of a shooting pain but not on the incision. I can’t place when it started but I did pick up my 3 year old a couple of times earlier then I should. I currently have a cold/sinus infection and this morning had some blood in my nasal mucus stuff (I know… gross). Anyway between seeing a little blood and the stomach pain, I am a little worried, but I have been told you would “know” if something tore. Has anyone had a tear that could explain what it felt like? Thanks

blood in sinus secretions is normal with infection. My guess is with a cold you have coughed and or sneezed and pulled a muscle.

ASK YOUR SURGEON - if you really have pain, no one on here can diagnose it from a far but I think we can all say that shooting abdominal pain is NOT normal.

It may be nothing, it may be something but I would definitely check with your doc

Yup shooting pain not good better to be safe then sorry.

On the sinus infection note though, have you ever tried nasal washing? My son has battled allergies since he was an infant and was on a ton of prescription meds since age of two and finally when I switched his pediatrician to someone closer he was adamant that the best way for him to clear up sinus issues and get relief was to do daily nasal washing. There is the Netti Pot out there but his doc suggested Neil Med nose wash system you can pick it up at Walgreens and other pharmacy type stores with the solution packets. The kid was getting a sinus infection every two months or so and since he has started on the washing he has only needed an antibiotics 2 times in 3 years. I wish I had known this for the first 9 years of his life. It is amazing. So the last time I started getting a really bad sinus thing going on, I picked one up for me and it immediately soothed and opened up the passages and washing out all the icky. I used it about 5 weeks post op and got some relief until things cleared up.

Just thought I would share as it is that time of the year and it has been a miracle worker. Simple yet affective!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
