Hi Everyone

Not checked in for awhile. Been super busy, hopefully that will change soon.

But I´ve been a good girl doing my exercises, and got another fill the other day taking me to 8.4 in a 14cc band. Lost 5 pounds since then!

This is a new experience, in that I´m super tight, and REALLY have to watch what I´m doing. In the morning I do my Protein Shake, for lunch cottage cheese, and then by evening I can eat something with a bit more substance.

Hoping this will be a good spot for me to loose. I´m ALMOST half way to what I want to lose.

Bio Teacher.

It sounds like you need to get yourself a new doctor. There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to schedule your appts, get your fill and be on your way. As far as the time it takes to get in to see the doctor, sounds like he's way overbooked. Being in Indy there are plenty of facilities that can help you. You might consider discussing with the doctor and see if it's a staff problem or him/her. If it's the doctor, say good bye with your money and onto someone that would love to have your revenue.

Hello everyone, my name is Janet and I am from Hobart, In. I just sent in for all the paperwork for the lap band proceedure. I am skeptical but confident it's the right thing for me. I have tried EVERY diet there ever was. About 12 years ago I was on the FemPHem and lost 102lbs in about 6 months. I lost a good chunk the first month which helped me to fell better about exercise. But I have gained it all back and then some.

Does anyone have Blue Cross Blue Shield Anthem? Are they pretty easy to get approval for this surgery. I sure hope so, I have two new grandbabies and i turn 40 soon and really need this for my health.

I have Anthem! I had to do 6 months of supervised weight loss classes, but after those, they approved me almost right away.

Did they have you go thru a specific dr or did you do the 6 months with the weight loss clinic that did the lap band? Did you have your surgery yet?

Sorry for all the questions, I am sure when you first began there were so many things you wanted to know, so i really appreciate the information.

Janet

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here, so bear with me. I live in Valparaiso, IN. I had my surgery in Merrillville, IN by Dr. Paul Stanish. My surgery date was 5/25/06 and I've lost 41# to date. The hospital has a monthly support group, but none of his lap band patients go, only the gastric by-pass patients. They made me feel so bad because they lose weight like crazy, it just melts off, and I'm struggling to lose 41 measely pounds. So I haven't been back to a meeting. It seems that I have good days and bad ones. Does anyone else? Some days I so desperately want to eat everything in site that I overeat and then throw up. Then some days I graze all day long. Then some days I do great. I have been exercizing 5 days a week. I had hoped my band was going to be a miracle cure, not just a tool:phanvan ! Help Me!

Hi! i am currently seeing Dr. Stanish for my surgery. I haven't been approved yet. I was wondering, how long was your process of find out when you could have your surgery? What do you think of him? Did he have you on high Protein and low carb diet? if so, how long? if you could please reply back to me i would greatly appreciate it!!! thanks!!!

Hey there everyone, first I have Anthem and did not have to do the supervised visits with the doc. so I think it depends on your BMI and medical history. I had my surgery in July of 08 and have lost 105 so far. I live in Merr. and work in Portage, I see Dr. Stanish and LOVE him and his team. They do suggest high Protein and low carbs but are open to what works for you. I was intrested in the support groups but heard the same and most of the people are by-pass, may be a few of us with the band could meet sometime, it would be so great to have people who live close, have the same doc and understand the struggles with the band. Please respond those who live near by and let me know, I would love to help in any way and to be able to pick you minds also.

Hi... I am from New Albany (SE) across the bridge from Louisville.... so will be having my surgery over there on Monday 2/9/09 finally!!!

I really would like to chat with someone locally that has had the band for support and to know of local support groups if there are any, as I would rather not drive over to Norton's for theirs.

Any help that anyone can give me... will be very much appreciated... I don't know whether I should give out my email address or what?

Joanne

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
