Any January Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I'm back and i'm sleeved!! thanks to all who said a prayer for me, it must have helped, things went really well. I had some pain the first two days but that was kept under control with meds, by the third day i felt great. "They kept me in two days longer because my drain was producing too much and the xrays they did were inconclusive but i know everything was fine.

How many of us have been sleeved this month so far? How is everyone doing?

I'm so excited to start my new life and re-claim my health!

Well, 4 days post sleeve and all is well, spent extra day in Hospital because of snow conditions in NJ. I had a Hiatial Hernia repaired at the same time. No pain from surgery, just some really bad gas pains from anastesia. Not taking any pain meds, just my regular medication. Surviving the liquid diet so far, havnt weighed my self will wait till Dr visit next week.. Please keep in touch and good luck, so far I am glad I did this.

Good for you, glad to hear that at 4 days out you are happy and doing well. I am in NY so I know all about the snow right now. How many days did you spend in hospital in all?

Take care and keep us updated!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
