Leak stats for a good surgeon should be less than or equal to 1% of their patients. They can happen, and yes, I had one, BUT I was a revision with a bad lapband situation, and the band had destroyed my stomach tissue. I also was not able to have an unfill on my band because my port was not accessible.

While leaks can happen, trust your surgeon, and medical team. Follow the post-op diet to a T, and that will decrease your risks of leak tremendously especially during the first 6 weeks post-op.

Also, staying fat is life-threatening. I'd do VSG all over again, even with a leak and complications, I'd do it all over again to be living the life I have today.
