If you got pregnant within a year of getting a sleeve, what gender did you have?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'd like to know if you got pregnant within a year of getting a sleeve done what gender was your baby? I had been trying for more than a year and a half before I got my sleeve; I have a history of infertility. Anyway, I have two boys and was doing a ton of research and swaying while trying to get pregnant.

Data shows that weightloss sways for a girl (changes the PH in the body), so I'm just wondering what gender you had if you were still losing weight from your sleeve and got pregnant!!

Thanks in advance :)

My doc said if I got preg during weightloss I would more likely have twins. This could be because of my age too... Im older. I am also IN menopause... she said I could pop out and get pregnant anyway!

The 2 women that I know that have gotten pregnant within the first 12-18 months post-VSG both gave birth to happy, healthy baby boys.

Don't men have that say? That is what I was always taught in school... so I'm not really sure what my PH balance would have anything to do with what sex my baby is born with.

I've read some "hocus pocus" stuff on pH killing off the boy spermies, and the girl spermies are able to survive a bit longer in our bodies. I've also studied the shettles method in ways to help pre-determine the sex of a baby. Personally, I think God has all the say in this little factor of life.

Ah okay, that makes sense. And you are right, I believe too if you you were meant to have a boy - and only had one living male spermie vs. a billion female spermies - if it's God's will you will have a Boy. ;)

There are also theories on what day of your cycle that you get pregnant determines the sex. Male sperm are fast swimmers and get there first, but die soon. Female sperm swim slower but live longer. I got pregnant with both of my kids on day 13 and both are girls. My sil has 3 girls getting pregnant on day 13. I have another friend that swears by the Chinese calendar. It's all fun to think about, but you love what you get no matter what. Isn't trying suppose to be the best part anyway : )

My whole family and myself have always done the Chinese birth chart. I has only been wrong once and we think that person doesn't know what month see got prego. Try it for people who already had their babies. Just make sure the know the month and age they were and compare it to the chart. It seems that the older we are the more likely it is a girl.

Thanks so much for all of your replies.

Actually, what has the most influence on determining the gender of a baby at conception is the Ph and the ion status of the mother's body. The Ph and Ions are most influenced by the diet of the mother; I've been studying gender and conception for three years; I have a background on molecular science.

The male carries the x or y sperm but he isn't the determining factor, our environment is.

The only reason that the day of month has anything to do male of female is that your environment changes down there the closer you get to ovulation. Egg white cervical mucus favors the y (male) sperm because of it's higher Ph. If your Ph is already low in your body as a whole, it will make no difference what day you have sex, the sperm probably won't be influenced by anything but the low Ph and negative ions, usually resulting in a x sperm winning. I said usually, but there is obviously a 50/50 chance of either. The only thing that is 100% is PGD.

I did some research on babies conceived within a fifteen month window after weight loss surgery (the 15 months being from the date of the surgery); 17 babies resulted in 12 girls and 5 boys.

It's interesting to say the least, for me anyway. I don't think I'll be having anymore babies, but still interesting.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
