Mourning the loss of food

Recommended Posts

Having one of those days where I think I am actually mourning the loss of food especially since I have been on Nutrimed since Monday. I begin to actually get jealous of everybody who can eat normal food. I know it sounds petty, but those thoughts have gone through my head right now. I think it is because I have to deal with my feelings and thoughts without the help of food. A big lesson to learn. I know with the Lord's help, I know I can make it through this. Anybody having those same thougths.

It is great not to be ruled by food. When I am really enjoying something it makes me mad when my belly can't eat all my head wants! If I eat really slow it helps me feel better satisfied.

We just have to remember why we are doing this. Oh and if it makes you feel better at least you get get away from the food you cant eat I am a chef so I am surounded with food for at least ten hours a day, I have allready warned my employees that I will prolly be grumpy for those ten days and I apologized in advance for my short temper :)

dear lay, i was just reading your post and have a question, i am having my sleeve surg on november 1st, and i have had the lapband for 21/2 yrs and a revision of the sleeve back in march, so, i did the liver reduction diet for two weeks prior to the band, but when the doc scheduled me for the sleeve, he never mentioned the diet again. i was wondering what your diet consists of and for how long, because besides wanting to shrink my liver, i need to detox from the sugar..thanks for listening and ill wait for your reply.....i am sooooooooooo scared, how do u feel about your upcoming surg.?

PS what is nutrimed?

My doc had me start ten days before surgery and for those ten days I am only alound to have four low carb protien shakes and one bowl of lettuce with a few low carb veggies with lemon juice no corn Beans meat cheese or guacamole.

I start this diet tomorrow and it kinda worries me but I am sure I will get through it. Only recently have I started getting abit nervious and started getting the what am I doing thoughts but I think that is totaly normal and then 30 seconds later I am super excited and cant wait to get it done, just a complete wirl wind of emotions!!! Well good luck on your revision just think you have that fact that this is not your first WLS and you know kinda what to expect.

I think I will be mourning the loss too! I only have to do 24 hour pre-op diet, but just the general overall loss of food as my friend. I think that is pretty normal feeling. Not sure how I will deal without food as my friend, but I'm ready to learn!!!

Hi liz, what is nutrimed, i have seen it on this site before, but never heard of it? ty vicki

Nutrimed is the preop diet that my surgeon put me on. It is puddings, shakes and other things that have Protein in them. It is pretty hard, but I also know that the liquid preop diet is not fun either. Hope that helps you know. If you want to know more here is a website http://www.robard.com/ProgramsProducts/NutriMed.aspx.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
