mixed up

Recommended Posts

hello everyone

first i must say i am not feeling the new format of the site, i just joined and was just getting use to the way things were and wala today it's all changed. oh by the way i changed my post name to thickinphilly it use to be pennick i just officially joined on friday. anyway i think there is some type of mix up because i received a few email from people congratulating me on losing 100 pounds and i have not even been sleeved yet. i don't know if thats wishful thinking on someone part but as i said friday i am just starting my journey and have not lost an ounce yet. oh to give you guys and update i told you i had all of my pre-op testing well with my upper GI they found that i have an ucler which i'm not really sure what that means in the way of my surgery. i have to have an endocomy i think that what it's called to see what stage my ulcer is in and i guess we will go from there. that appointment is tomorrow i hope this doesn't hold me up in any way.

Welcome to the site! Like you, I have just recently joined this site. Your doctor will definitely tell you if having the procedure to treat your ulcer will hinder the advvancement of your upcoming surgery. I'm no doctor but if I had to guess I'd say no...it shouldn't be a hinderance. Good luck with your appointment tomorrow! Be encourage.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
