The sugar will make you hungry faster. So its best to use sugar free with everything. Besides some of it (jello) tastes good.

I am 10 days out and I've tried a bite of eggs and a bite of cheese and immediately my body said NO WAY!! I was curious if I could hold down any mushy stuff and the answer is no. I learned and went back to my campbell's vegetable beef broth (its a waste of veggies, but the broth is soo good)

I certainly can't tell you whats best for your body.. but I'll tell you that after 10 days, my body isnt ready and still needs liquids ONLY>

Everyone's different, but I'd definitely be careful. I'm on my 8th day and was excited because I was able to eat a little cottage cheese. If you are going to try more than clear liquid, start with just thicker liquids at first-- drinkable yogurts, Protein shakes, creamy Soups. Once you're feeling good on that you can try stuff like cottage cheese and things with a little bit of soft chunks. Just be really gentle with your tummy right now cause it's healing, you don't want to stress it out.

Hang in there, I'm impatient and can't wait to get back to solids, but trust me, even if you go for them now you're not gonna enjoy it!

I'm too afraid to stray from my doctor's orders. So if he says 2 weeks of Clear Liquids, I'm doing it. I learned that applesauce is a clear liquid. What if you have some of that. I'll tell you, I can only eat half of the little motts container, and I have to save the rest for another time. Last night I ate a little too much, and I felt uncomfortable, just overfull.. didn't like it. I think the object is we don't want to make our stomachs have to work too hard to digest. Right now it's healing. Maybe I'm just overly cautious, but I'm not even going to THINK about a yogurt or mashed potato until Sunday!! I am looking forward to my stage 2 for the variety!

Also.. I found Crystal Light popsicles at Walmart. sugar free, cold, like a treat, I eat 2 a day usually. If your'e doing popsicles, make sure they are sugar free. and watch the ones in the grocery store that say no sugar added, cause even they have sugar alcohols in them, and you don't want that. Good luck!

It's better to be overly cautious than to throw it to the wind. I had blended and thinned out some potato Soup yesterday and my stomach did not agree with it. The funny thing with this surgery is we never know what our tummies will like or not like while it's healing and getting introduced to new foods. I felt nauseous for a few hours and I knew I wouldn't be trying that again for a long time, or maybe ever. I may not even try mashed potatoes for a long time either.

To the OP, don't be in such a rush to try things. We may feel "OK" but as we introduce ourselves to new things we never know what will stick and what won't. Also, getting back to sugar isn't the best idea. There are so many alternatives out there rather than push pops.

First heal, then go into full on weight loss mode until goal. If you start going down the wrong path now you will find it more difficult to steer back into the right one. Likely you are free from the sugar addiction now. Stick with it, don't sabotage yourself.

Me personally I'm staying on course and doing what my surgeon suggested. He also said everything I try for the first time will be a learning curve. Start slow and if it works great, if not - move on to something else or go back and BE PATIENT WITH MYSELF! He made sure I heard that one... lol

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
