I was at the grocery store today and in the oatmeal aisle it looks like Quaker is now making a High Fiber oatmeal. It is in the packet box so that's even better! It has 10g per packet!! :(

I'm not sure where I read this before surgery but I wrote it down just in case. I haven't had the need to try it..yet.. but they say it works.

4oz prune juice

4oz orange juice

10 seconds in the micro wave

If you can't drink all 8oz just drink as much as you can. Let us know if this helps.

Same problem here. My doc told me to get 80 oz of Water in a day. a colace (or it's generic) in the morning and in the evening. He also told me to take MIlk of Magnesia to get a "breakthough," but not regularly. I have to start the extra water and colace tomorrow. Concrete bowels is so right! Hope it's not TMI, but this morning I covered my finger with some Saran Wrap and used it to apply some A&D ointment to my behind to help it come out more comfortably. It was a relief.

lol... kinda like talking about our babies. once you're a mom and have done this sort of stuff, nothing seems like TMI! lol... I hope things get moving for everyone.

I give that oatmeal to my little guy who's 4, just realized it. I always buy the high fiber. Figure it can't hurt. Tastes the same.

AniO: I had concrete bowls about a week out, had to do more than just apply ointment to help it out, I actually had to put surgical gloves on and some vaseline because it just wouldn't come out, sorry i think this IS TMI but as Jordien just said, once you've had kids nothing seems to be like TMI!!

Hahahahaha! Girrrrl believe me I tried but it hurt too much, I was literally crying and praying and pushing (funny now, but NOT then) and BAM finally came out LOL...I'm NOT GOING THROUGH THAT AGAIN. I'm not going to STRESS myself out with all the Protein seriously. I've gotta add Fiber everyday from now on. I've been eating oatmeal and fruit, and I'm gonna try that orange juice and prune juice mix too :).

Cocoa is an oft-overlooked source of fiber. Get some unsweetened cocoa powder and brew your own hot chocolate with splenda or some other sweetener.

Got it! And it was only $1.98 a box at Ralphs. I will add some banana to it as well. I'm going to take a box to work tomorrow :)

Great! I def plan to use it once I get to solids. Oatmeal is still too fibrous for me right now, but I do love oatmeal - its so good for you. Besides I'm still OK for now... no issues with "that". :tongue_smilie: But with that one packet I'll be at more than half RDA for fiber by breakfast!

Yes, Miralax does work. It's great stuff. I still go to my support group that is held at my band doctor's. He recommends Miralax all the time. He said you can use it every day. It just puts Fluid into the place it needs to go.

Once you're off liquids, and old weight watchers recommendation was to put some fiber one Cereal into your yogurt. It's good. It makes it crunchy.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
