So glad to hear it. It's amazing how quickly you go from "what have I done" to "ow!" to "Wow! I feel like myself again".

Looking forward to "watching" your journey.

Yes, yes, yes! I remember crying in the hospital wondering "what did I do?" LOL (it wasn't funny then), but I'm so glad for you and others who were here to support me:crying: sniff sniff thanks again Mini :-)

I just realized I didn't take my pepcid ac today (I just forgot) do you think that has anything to do with it???

I said those exact words, when they woke me after surgery, and the entire night. "what did I do", LOL (it is funny now looking back on it, but not then I really thought I was going to die), but I'm feeling better each day, and actually going back to work part time on Monday. I'm glad you are feeling better.

I am two days out and still at the "What have I done?" stage. Feeling very anxious.

Day 2-6 were the worst for me. It just doesn't feel right and I was scared I would never feel like me again. Somewhere around day 10 I woke up feeling like woah....this isn't so bad. Now at 29 days out. I feel just like me but a me thats lost 19 pounds and a me that can't eat a whole lot. Other then that I am feeling pretty damn good and no longer feel the buyer's remorse.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
