Feeling a bit dizzy and nauseated ...question

Recommended Posts

I started feeling a bit dizzy yesterday evening and little sick to my stomach. I woke up today and I feel the same way. I am hydrated (i think? my urine is pretty clear) I have been constantly drinking Water and tea. I am not running a temp or anything. I just wondered if at 22 days post op if it is diet related or maybe something going around?

Any thoughts are welcome.

I had surgery last Friday and felt fine up until Thursday when I started feeling dizzy and icky - I even almost blacked-out in the shower on Friday! It was scary.

Today I actually hit 75oz of Water and 80g of Protein and I do feel somewhat better. I'm going to bite the bullet again tomorrow and see if I improve that much more.

I've been having the same problem in the last week or so, see my newest thread in this subforum.

I was at work on Friday sitting at at my desk and all of a sudden felt very dizzy for about 10 seconds or so. It was kinda scary. I blew it off, but now....... I dunno?

P.S. I was sleeved on Aug. 17th.

Someone had pointed out on your thread, I think, that it might be a bit of dumping syndrome. I had been wondering that. I think it may be a slight case of that now that I am eating semi normally. I am going to see how it plays out before I consult doc to find out if I need to see a nutritionalist.:confused1:

I got that way off and on for about 6 weeks. I think I just wasn't taking in enough nourishment. Now I eat more... not too much more... but I am learning about what my body needs and getting better at listening to myself. Also its easier to eat than it was in the begining. Eventually all that weakness and dizzyness goes away... hang in there

I feel a little off every since yesterday, I was sleeved on 9/7 and the first 2 days were not good the next 2 where better, yesterday I was a little dizzy for some reason, last night I couldn't sleep I tossed and turned all night. I eventually got out of bed and just felt a little spacey, I'm not on any meds so I am not sure whats wrong I'm a little gasey but that passed. I am concerned about leaks and other complications I am not sure what I should be looking for. I tolerate pain pretty well I have only had to take the liquid Lortab once since I have been home so I am not really hurting I am very uncomfortable and a little light headed. If anyone can help I appreciate it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
