Glad everything is going well. The 2nd day was rough for me too. Between the drugs and gas, I was miserable or asleep. Gas X strips are an amazing thing. Walking helps too. So like everyone else says... WALK WALK WALK...

While you are home rest even if you feel great, I overdid and last week I paid for it....

Good morning, hopefully you are feeling great and get to come home today.

Ok my surgeon just told me he's keeping me another day because I'm not getting enough fluids in. I told him it hurts to drink and he said that should not be happening, so we are going to work on this today...I don't know how people say they are out shopping 1 day after surgery, that is truly amazing. My uvula got pretty beat up too during the surgery, did this happen to anyone else? I can literally feel it hanging at the back of my throat, SO GROSS! Anyway, I'm hopeful for a better day today, and I will try and drink more and walk more :-) hugs...

Yay! So glad to "see" you. Sorry to hear you are having problems. Remember the mantra everyday gets better. I don't know how anyone goes out the first 5 day I am only feeling up to it on day 6.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
