New diet i found

Recommended Posts

Take it with a grain of salt. It just seemed interesting to me when I ran across it. I might give it a shot to see how well it works. It seems to me that it would be a lot of Water weight lost, but they say you can repeat it the next week and get the same results, and can continue to do the diet over and over till you are satisfied. We'll see.

This is the same has the cabbage Soup diet- just slight differences in the ingredients. It does work but usually once you stop you put the added weight back. I used to do this but never had tried any diet when banded. Maybe its worth a shot;0)

It looks like a pretty feasible diet -- just beware if you are DIABETIC -- 3 bananas and milk will raise your blood sugars to a point of no return since diabetics are limited to 1/2 a banana per WEEK....otherwise go for it I say! lol

Fortunately I do not have any comorbities in the diabetes dept. I just have joint pain and muscle aches. So I am thinking I am going to do this diet. I will be getting the ingredients this weekend. I will keep y'all updated on how it goes.

Hi.......I saw this at bottom of your post:

Apron Surgery: 07/07/06 with Dr. Cardenas in Monterrey, MX

Lapband Surgery: Sometime in September with Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey, MX

You mean it's possible to have the apron removed before the LB??? :faint:

Why didn't somebody tell me that before I had mine??? I would love to get rid of this bag hanging clear to my knees !! I know at my age it's not going to 'firm up'...it'll be with me till I can get someone to take a knife to it.

Maybe I can do it now? I've lost about 50 lb but have another 100 or more to go. Might have to do it again later?

Best wishes to you.........

HAHAHA Thanks! I plan on having more surgery done after I reach goal, but yes...I need my huge apron taken off so I can workout properly, and not have to dress specifically so that I do not get sores from the skin touching and my sweating while workingout. It is awful. And I can't wait to have it gone!!!

Hey Funny!

This diet looks real interesting. I am in a little funk & wondering if maybe this would kick my butt in gear. I love this soup! I made it a few years ago & it was yummy. :P :scared: I have a friend who lost 50 lbs. on the cabbage Soup diet.

When do you plan on starting this? Let us know how it goes!

Ive done the cabbage Soup diet before and my friend (unbanded) swears by the sacredheart diet. It is designed for rapid weightloss and apparently it works. Its just a matter of how long you can tolerate it before you start gagging at the thought of soup. *grins*

Hey Amy! My first though was that this is very similiar to the cabbage Soup diet, which has been around forever. One of my girlfriends and I did it once years ago, we both lost a decent amount. We didnt add the other foods, just lived on the soup for 2 week, lol! It gets old fast but we DID lose while doing it. I wish I weighed NOW what I did back then when I thought I was fat.

I did the cabbage Soup diet a few times last year... this looks almost exactly like it. I was sooo excited for banana and milk day when it came! I ate like 9 bananas and 3L of milk... I lost 14 lbs the first week, and almost that much the other times. It's a good kick-start.

Ok. Starting today. I would have started yesterday but the tropical storm kept knocking out our power and I couldn't get the Soup fully cooked till 2am this morning. But I am doin it today, and so is DH. I am going to go with my normal wednesday weigh ins instead of twice a week. So I will have a starting weight tomorrow to work off of.

I have to say....the soup is fantastic!!! I could never do the cabbage soup diet cause I find that stuff repulsive, but this veggie stew is awesome!! It is so flavorful, and it is all my fave veggies in it! The combo of beef broth and chicken noodle soup is a great one! And the tomatoes add a special kick. Instead of doing 3 large green onions, I used 7 small to medium Vidalia onions. The soup is sweet and flavorful. I am going to be happy eating that anytime.

So DH's starting weight is 191. My starting weight will come tomorrow. I will update the thread to let you all know how it is going and if I am losing the 10-17 pounds promised. LOL

ok....disclaimer.... LOL

This diet did not originate at Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital (in Spokane I believe) and is VERY similar to the cabbage Soup diet. Only without the yucky cabbage. LOL I called my nutritionist and asked her about it. She said that while it is not a diet to live on permenantly, it is one that can be done for weight loss, and does work. She does recommend adding a breast of boiled or broiled chicken to the days that do not include beef, so hat you do not drop your Protein intake too low. No skin. She also said to be careful about the banana day, because they are high in sugar and can cause your blood sugar to spike.

I just want you all to know that I am researching this, not just plastering info on a diet that may or may not be real. :) I guess I should say "As with any diet, be sure to seek the advice of your physician before starting any new regimine."

Man this soup is good!!!! LOL

Hey Funny!

I am doing this with you too!! My daughter & I started yesterday. I lost 1 lb in one day & my daughter lost 2 lbs!! I think the Soup is yummy. Today is Veggie day & I'm having cucumbers, soup & cherry juice for Breakfast. ha!

I researched this on-line as well & found that the people who have done this reccomend you take a good Multi-Vitamin every day. I think I may also drink some Isopure to get in some extra Protein on the non-beef days.

I've been on a plateau for a LONG time & I just needed a little something to get me back in the game. This just might be it. :):)

The soup is very band friendly & super healthy. I really like it & could easily eat it for a normal meal some day.

I'll let you know how it goes!!! Good luck Funny!!!

I have heard of this diet last fall, thought about doing it, and then like all my old diets...didn't do it! I have been losing very slow and was thinking about joining you on this one...but for some reason I'm chicken. I think I'll wait and see how it goes for the both of you first. Please update the thread with your progress...it is appreciated.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
