    • I swallow small pills normally but crush/break/use liquid rather than take large pills.

    • It depends on my level of restriction. If loose, I take pills normally. If tight, I break/crush them or take liquid.

If you want a cheap and chewable Calcium, use Tums.

I tried Viactiv, but when I chewed it it didn't dissolve in my mouth and I was afraid to swallow it. So y'all have used it and it's ok?

I had a terrible experience of not being able to drink enough Water to lube the way down and havign a pill stick in my throat which kinda "burned" it. The result was reflux like symptoms and serious restriction for about 2 days. Not my best bandster moment but my only negative experience ever. Now i take my pills with food.< /p>

I take about 11 pills a day. My multi Vitamin, B Complex and Calcium are pretty big so I have been cutting them up and it takes me the better part of a day to get them all done.

I've had no problems with my smaller pills. But I was very concerned about pills and such before I got banded. Nice to know I worried for nothing. :)

I have never been able to swallow pills, and now with the band, I am finding more and more alternatives. My Migraine meds dissolve under my tongue, as does my anti-anxiety med. I got chewable baby aspirin, and liquid Tylenol. I take chewable vitamins, Iron, Calcium, and now papaya enzymes and there is a new item on the market called Nauzene which is a chewable anti-nausea aid. I have owned a pill splitter/crusher my whole adult life, and always ask the dr. if the pills can be crushed and or chewed.

My doc said any pills the size of a Tylenol or smaller are fine to swallow whole. So, I take my Cymbalta, Prevacid, Synthroid, and Klonopin without breaking them. I cut my Glucophage, which is for diabetes, as it is a very large pill.

I take a total of 22 pills of medication daily. I chew my Freddy's. Some of my pills are very large, and can not be crushed, so I have to swallow those guys. I get up early and drink a hot drink in order to get my band to open up enough to accept the large pills. It seems to work well. The rest I crush. (And you know what? The crush pills taste like battery acid. The worse part is: I am use to the taste and it does not bother me anymore.:cursing: GROSS!!!!!!)

I get my first fill tomorrow but up till now, I've been able to swallow any type of pill big or small. Looks like this might change? When I first got banded, I bought a morter and pestle to crush pills and was very careful. As the swelling decreased I was able to feel more comfortable with the idea of swallowing a larger pill. I purchased chewable Celebrate Vitamins (recommended) but I can't stand them!!!:sneaky: I need to try something else.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
