Worried...Worried...???

Recommended Posts

Well I'm worried bc I just found out today that I have a big infection in 2 teeth on my left side and the dentist put me on 2 antibiotics today and pain meds bc I'm going to need a root canal or possibly 2 !!! AND I'm suppose to have surgery on Monday the 26th so there's a possibility I will have to reschedule my surgery due to the fact that I'm in pain n need to have this fixed and I'm taking antibiotics a week before surgery...

I'm worried about my approval time running out (might sounds silly) but does anyone know if once you get approved by your insurance if there is a time frame in which you must do surgery by?? anyone ever had to reschedule their surgery bc od something similar?? so annoyed !!

I'm in my last week of the liquid pre-op which has been hell and to think that I would have to do it all over again...aaaahhhh..and that's another thing with these strong meds I'm taking and nothing but Water and shakes..my stomach is a mess.

Just upset over this complication :frown1:

So sorry you are going through this! Have you spoken with your surgeon yet about this situation? Also, you might try calling your insurance company and asking them about what will happen if you have to extend your surgery date. I do know that I've seen people's posts stating they had antibiotics before surgery. I don't know the situation, just that they had mentioned it in a post. So, perhaps, it is one that won't mess up your surgery. Just something to think about. Hang in there! I know it would stink if you had to postpone it, but just try to look at the positive that you will still be able to have the surgery! It's probably going to work out ok, it just might take some phone calling on your part! Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Well :crying: they rescheduled my surgery till August 23rd, the doctor has no openings till then...but it won't be an issue with the insurance, which is a good thing. I guess everything happens for a reason. I just have to start all over again in about 2 and a half weeks..the good news is that I lost 10 lbs while doing the pre op diet and I got my self use to exercising everyday which I'm sticking to...so hopefully I'll be a few lbs less for surgery.

Thanks for the support !

I know it's frustrating to have to reschedule but it's better to not have a complication after surgery because of the infection. Keep up the good work with the exercising and the time will fly by. Keep us posted.

I know it sucks to have to wait for your sleeve but you'll probably be able to heal better without those teeth throbbing away. The healing/postop phase is very important - especially getting in fluids and establishing eating habits so you don't want to have dental pain at that time. Good luck!

WooHoo!! I got a call from my doctor yesterday letting me know that they had a cancellation for August 17th and could schedule me in...it's just a week earlier but it's something...so that's my official date now (if God willing no other issues arise) LoL

Thank You all...you have been great support at making me feel better !!

I do medical billing and most authorizations do have an expiration date but it depends on the insurance and the person who obtainned the auth as to when it will expire. I wish you best of luck.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
