Hey guys.

Ok, the shrink's office called me this morning, they faxed the stuff to Dr B!!! HOOOORAAY!

Oh and I am on the meds for the H Pylori. Oh MY GOD!!! can we say nasty!!!!???

I have this horrible aftertaste in my mouth and I have to take 4 pills in the am and 4 in the pm. Im gonna have a raging yeast infection from all the antibiotics. (TMI, yea.. but..)

So anyone have any tips on preventing yeast infection from antibiotic overload?

I ended up at urgent care my yeast infection was so bad after the hpylori meds. I say about 2-3 days before the end of the antibiotics start yeast infection treatment. Eat lots of yogurt.

Melissa -

That was funny about your oldest trying to give Karah up for adoption.

My brother whose 38 and I had a hate relationship growing up, we are very close now. I beleive my brother's, I have five of them, would have paid to give me away when I was young. They were all in their teens when I was born and we've never been close. One brother used to say he was going to get custody of me if anything happened to our mom. Well, she died three years ago and he asked if he could have custody. It's rather funny, but we hardly talk. So Sad.

I'll take Karah if she can Deal with CHloe. Does Karah talk alot, chloe runs circles around me and I though I talked alot.

Ok so we had a small support group meeting but it was very good. I even learned things... I was able to answer alot of questions for pre-op patients. I love it because I know I was the same way. :P Let me tell you there are alot more people out there that have then band then on here. If we had them all were we would have to rent a place each month to get together. hehe...

Melissa - how funny my sister and I are 5 years apart and couldn't stand each other growing up. However now no one can have her, we are the closest anyone could ever be. We talk 2 - 5 times a day every day...She is my best friend well next to my band. :scared:

Karen girl I am so proud of you...do us proud!!!

Jennifer how is that back doing?

Dianne you go with your shirt...I too love that feeling. It's great I love being a loser. :clap2:

Wavy - listen to Melissa I remeber how bad it was for her. She want steer you wrong on this one.

Ok so I am painting Curtis' room tonight, my mom came over to help. I was trying to keep Curtis on his bed because he wanted to "help" us. Well he came over to give me a kiss and laid right on the wet wall. Yes I had an imprint of my child on his wall. It's was a pain the you know what to get rid of it.

Hey folks, when does the belly bloating go down? I'm doing great, but look like I'm 5 months pregnant! Otherwise, no complaints whatsoever! :)

The bloating went down about the third week for me, but it could be different for everyone. Glad you are doing so well. :cheer2: :cheer2:

I am starting to get MO (as my grandaughter says) hungry, can't wait for the first fill.

Karen,

I think I'm still bloated, there's gotta be some explaination. I'm 3 months post op. I hope your bloat goes soon. How's the walking?

Kim - My back is there. I can send you a private message if you want to know more. I meant to ask how your meeting went. Did you hire the cma yet? I was looking into the job description on gaston college, totally not for me. THey do phlebotomy. I better stick with business jobs. Paper pushing.

I'm so ready for the weekend, do I really need to work tomorrow and Friday? I was off today for a medical procedure that went very stressfuly, but not surgery related. Next week DH is having a medical procedure so I'll be off wednesday again.

Daughter is freed for the summer, any takers? Just kidding, I'm a hoverer and I don't let her out of my sight.

I hope all is well with the rest of you.

Jennifer

Ok so I am VERY sick...these Iron pills are KILLING me. You don't want to know where I am at right now typing this. Really...I have spent over 1/2 my day there. I don't know if it's a stomach bug or what....but I am bad off. I am running a fever now and I am going to bed as soon as I can get done here. Say a little prayer for that it's gone when I get up in the morning. I feel horrible!!!!

OK, you'll all think I'm nuts, but I'm ready to go back to work. If I'm going to sit on my butt, I might as well get paid for it and not use my PTO.

I continue to do great, and have no complaints! I'm excited about the future, and making my new found friend work for me! :)

Karen - I have a little girl who can keep you company while you sit down.

You need this rest, it's true. I haven't been to work since tuesday.

This morning I was rough from the procedure, so I figured I needed to give my body a day of rest. I could get used to this, however, I'd have to learn the daytime tv schedule.

Wavy - Good Luck with STD, Dr B is tough - I only got 3 weeks for RNY while most people get 6-8 weeks. I was very tired for the first 8 weeks too. Now, I'm fine. Except my back.

How's everyone else? Kim I hope your doing better. Do you work Fridays? I think it would be cool working for a dr, I just don't want to touch anyone's bodies for any reason. I've seen enough of my dr for a lifetime in the past 5 days. I'm better now. Just working on getting my back fixed up next. I sure don't want surgery for that.

Off to bed. Gotta get up early for work. Does it ever get easier??

Jennifer :omg:

I'm going to be in Asheville soon! *grins*

But I won't be able to visit! It's going to drive me nuts to know my adopted NC sisters are there and I won't be able to see ya! I'll be in Knoxville a few days and talked my mom in to running over to tour the Biltmore Estates. Woot! I haven't seen them in years and I just LOVE that place.

Maybe if I let you know what day we'll be there you could all stand at the Biltmore entrance with signs that say stuff like Welcome P'Nut and her mom! Or Woohooo Susan! Welcome to NC! LOL! My mom would freak! LOL!

Hey keep us posted you just never know. I have a sister in law that lives like an hour from there so I could go an visit her. :) Then happen to go to Biltmore. I also have an aunt in Maryville, TN just beside Knoxville so next time you are there let me know and maybe I can make a visit there. I love meeting banded people!!!!

Ok so I am finally better!!!! I think it was a combo of the Iron pill and a virus. Go figure..I am just glad it's gone. I did loss 4 pounds in one day..I guess you could say I had a lot poop in me. hehe....

Karen how does it go? One more week of liquids and you start working in mushies. Yeah!!!! I am so proud of you...you are doing great.

Wavy - I used STD because w/ Wachovia if you are written out for 8 consective days including weekends you can use your STD. I did and was approved for 2 weeks. So depending on the doc and if you tell them I am sure they will work with you. That is what I did.

How is everyone else? Kathy, Jennifer, Dianne, Melissa, Angie, Loretta, Vickie? I know I am missing others so chime on in...

We have a busy weekend...tomorrow swim lessons and finish Curtis' room then I got ticket to Tim and Faith concert tomorrow night!!! Sunday we are going to Jay Jay the plane and to a birthday party...thank goodness I have monday's off...I need them to re-coup.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
