Help! I can't tolerate this stuff!

Recommended Posts

I couldn't get past it either. I ended up finally finding Any whey ([ame=http://www.amazon.com/Optimum-Nutrition-Instantized-Protein-2-7-Pound/dp/B000GIUQOG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1271715736&sr=8-1]Amazon.com: 100% Any Whey Protein: Health & Personal Care[/ame]) and Unjury chicken Soup (unjury.com) ... I put 1/2 Scoop of Any Whey into my yogurt to boost it up 9g of Protein and use the Unjury (mix with 4 oz of warm, not boiling water). Unjury will send you sample packets so at least you aren't stuck with a tub of something you can't stand.

Never tried the other Proteins since my surgeon was strict about only using Whey protein.

Best of luck - it's no fun gagging stuff down. Hopefully others will chime in on their discoveries.

I couldn't tolerate any of them either. Either the taste, smell or texture robbed me of using them, or they made me puke my guts up.

I was able to get my Protein from greek yogurt, cheese, egg whites, and super mushy chicken/tuna/egg salad. It took time to build up to getting the necessary amounts, but I didn't think it was worth to puke and hurt myself to get extra protein from the mixes.

A lot of people enjoy the Jay Robb brand, and the Muscle Milk Light pre-mixed cartons were 'okay ' for me for a little bit.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
