Oh it looks good! I was way off track. Do you think I can buy it online? We don't have anything like that here :) Once again thanks Tiffykins!

smelly melly- yes you can buy them on-line. Amazon.com has quite a few different flavors that you could buy. you could also take like craft sticks or freeze the cystal lite kool aid mixed with Water in ice cube trays to make some icey pops. they would be better than the store bought kind. good luck. you can probably buy ice cube trays online. let me know if you need anymore help..

sugar free popsicles are considered icey pops, I'm not sure about icy poles, but that could be what they are called in Aussie.

Crystal Lite is a non-caffeinated, sugar free, sweetened with Aspartame, non-carbonated drink.

Huge varieties of flavors

Hope that helps ! ! !

Tiffy you are so helpful!!!

I loved the fruit juice, no sugar added popsicles that were 25 calories. I liked that they didn't have any artificial ingredients.

I think everyone goes through that "saying g'bye" to food phase. I personally wasn't able to because I was right at my pre surgery goal weight. I had to be at 230 for surgery and knew that they would send me home if I wasn't. Surgery morning I was 228.8 so I really didn't have room to go out and eat. In some ways I'm glad because it put my eating on a short leash. Three days before surgery I had a small serving of french fries, and that night had brown rice with a Thai seafood and eggplant dish. I just told myself that all the foods that I was missing were the ones that took me to 249 pounds. I knew that eventually I'd be able to have one or two bites of foods that I missed, once I got to goal. After the first bite, it's all feeding the head and not the stomach, right?

If you're having a field day pre-op, don't beat yourself up and try to keep things as healthy as possible. We get to learn new habits as we prepare for surgery.

I remember, I ate an Atkins type diet two weeks before my liquid diet of 3 days. I had one day before I did the liquid where I ate whatever I wanted. "Funeral" I remember about a week after my surgery and still on liquids I announced to my family that I wished I had had one more of those sour creams enchiladas that day. Everyone laughed and so did I.

I was speaking to my hubby last night about this panic issue, and possibly eating more before the surgery..... at first he really couldn't get his head around it all.... why would we do this when we want to loose the weight.

The only thing I could make him understand with was cigarettes - if he knew he had to give up I bet he would sit there and chain smoke his way thru loads before hand.....then he got it.

Some of us are probably food addicts.....which makes it even harder, as you need some food to live, you don't need cigarettes or alcohol.... and you can to some extent avoid them, you can't really avoid food... which is why its so difficult for some.

Although with the sleeve, your body MAKES you avoid binging like you're used to. It's just physically impossible to eat much at a time. That's the great part, and the challenge if you've depended on food for comfort.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
