Outraged! This man mooed at me!

Recommended Posts

When this happened to me, I stopped, turned and said...

"You absolutely have to be the most creative person on the face of the earth. I mean, REALLY! That was quite the f'ing stretch to moo at a larger person. If I knew what sound backward, intolerant, assholes made, I'd respond but I guess I'm just not nearly as talented or as smart as you."

Stopped him in his tracks and his buddies howled with laughter.

I don't cry about that sort of thing. I have such a smartass mouth is just engages before anything else can be done. I guess that's my way to keep from crying...cut them off around the knees with my mouth.

I feel your pain, believe me I do. The same thing happened to me at a party 10 years, I was sitting on the front step of the house (my best friend's house), and directly on the other side of the fence some guys started mooing at me, there must have been about 5 of them. I was MORTIFIED, I haven't been so hurt in my life, literally, for some reason it shook me to the core. My friend made a big deal of it with me and said she'd tell them to leave, but really, who wants to put themselves in the spotlight AGAIN once they've been treated that way. I'm feeling nauseous just thinking about it, I'm so sorry you had to go through that. But like it's been said, those ****ers will get theirs in then end, and hey, they probably still live at home with their parents and have teensy weeny little....well you get the point.

I would have said..."Did you say moo or ooh. You know, your boyfriend shouldn't touch you down there and make you say that in public. Get a room."

i would have followed them around the whole store, stating very loudly to everyone i walked by, These insensite assholes just moo'ed at me to mqake themselves feel like they have a bigger penis. i am sure a few employees would notice, and they would either be asked to leave, or they would leave on their own to avoid the crazy lady shouting and drawing attention to them.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Some people are real pigs!

I loved Mary's comment about "I'd rather have too much than too little" and looking at their crotch!! But I probably wouldn't have had the nerve. I think Wheetsin is right and totally ignoring them was the bst thingto do. They wanted to see you respond somehow, and you denying them a reaction was the best revenge.

My favorite response I've ever heard to the mooing, and hope I remember this the next time it happens to me:

"Excuse me - did you just moo like a cow?"

"Yep."

"I thought so. You don't look like you have the balls to be a bull."

lol

lol i like that one

when my husband saw this thread he was like...what? people moo or make rude comments to fat people....as if his eyes had just been opened...i was like..um yeah....

my favorite was always the, well I can lose weight but what are you gonna do about ur stupidity thing...

I now have new amo with the I'd rather have more then less comment...that one is great...

I know I should ignore that stuff, but I can't, i totally blasted 2 teenage boys that were at my school making fun of me.......I asked them if they thought what they were saying was funny, and of course they were embarrassed that I had come back, I was still bitching at them when their parents picked them up, and I told their parents....the parents look apphauled...

ohh well whatever, hopefully most of us will never have to hear these kinds of insults EVER again!

:pound: :pound: :pound: :pound: That was a GREAT one!

I hate it when people act like that, it is very childish of them. I have things like that happen to me so many times. One time a guy asked me if I thought I was disabled.... another time someone said look at that B***h she so fat if she doesnt die from that shes smoking haha.... Yeah people can be cruel. but no matter how you ignore them or try to blow it off like nothing, it still hurts.

I've been thinking about this.

While yes, there are some terribly rude and obnoxious people in the world, others are simply ignorant or have poorly developed senses of humor.

Personally, when standing in very long lines, like for movies, I've been known to make varous barnyard animals who get penned. LIke sheep, cattle, or even hogs. And I've gotten some very hostile looks from people while joking with friends when I make my animal noises. Oddly enough sheep/goat and chicken noises don't generate much antagonism, but cows and pigs... whoa, another story altogether!

Wow, there are some good comebacks in this thread! I hope you are feeling a bit better now Poodles!

I've had the 'drive bys' plenty of times, but the worst was a few months ago. I was sitting outside my dentists office waiting for Mike (my fiance) to pick me up. This car pulled up and the kids in the back seat (maybe 8 and 10, maybe younger) started saying nasty things to me (hey you ****in' fat ass, etc), and the woman driving got out and just said "oh just ignore them" and went into a store. The entire 10 or 15 minutes she was in the store, they were yelling at me, saying worse and worse things (things I didn't know about when I was 10). I refused to even look at them. Finally I couldn't take it anymore and just "You guys need help". They left, and Mike showed up and he said "Hey, what's wrong??" and I just started bawling as I told him what happened. He was SO ANGRY!! Honestly, the only think that helped me feel better was to think about their probably futures.

I too hope that I never piss Nykee off. :)

the adult with the kids just said to ignore them???!?!?!?!?! WTF?!?!?! What kind of manners is she teaching the kids??

Ohhhh I would have done a lot more then that to the kids i would have went in the store and VERY LOUDLY told the lady that the children she left ALONE in the car were shouting insults and curse words to people....I would make sure that every one else in the store heard what I was saying to her.... I might shy away when it comes to adults, but as a teacher I have no problem telling off kids or their parents (responsible adult with tme) when they are displaying unacceptable behavior.

Of course you are absolutely right K@t, but I have no courage when it come to confrontation, lol.

aww...I don't have much courage when it comes to men i think. I just ignore that, unless I'm in a really pissy mood at the time they decide to mess with me, but kids...i guess thats second nature because I'm a teacher....well don't worry about it, what goes around comes around and one day those kids will get theirs....

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
