I was sleeved on Monday the 15th and all is good here. Mexicali hospital is small but nice and clean. At 2 days out I am definitely feeling better. Onward and inward. LOL. Take care all, I'll post my weight graph when I figure it out. Starting weight 468 lbs.

Hello Everyone in the 200+ group,

I am Gary and I'm 51 years old and started my journey at 6' and 362.8 pounds. I too like so many others have struggled with my weight all my life. I had VSG on 01-25-10 in Mexico with Dr. Aceves. This morning I weighed in at 300.8 so I've lost 62 pounds in a short period of time. Oh yeah I love my sleeve.

I would say a definite, unless you decide to eat crap.

I had the gastric sleeve surgery on 02/20 in Mexico where a lot of Americans go and save a lot of money. The surgery was easy. The hard part is learning to adapt to the restrictions after the surgery. That will come in time and the results will be worth the lifelong restrictions. Go for it!

Great for you Burton! How is everything going?

WTG Lost!

I know the feeling, I have lost and re-gained hundreads of pounds over the years. I have yet to be sleeved (April 10th!!) but I feel very optimistic reading every one elses comments. What I love about the VGS is even if you have a "bad day" that bad day can never be anything near a bad day without. (can you say "pizza night") I could always stick to a diet for 2-3 weeks, then I would jump off that wagon into a binge. I think that not being able to do that will help me to be good.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

Well all sleeved and feeling GREAT! I am feeling so good that my Step Mom, who came down to support me, is going for the surgury today! So I am staying to Mexicalli for 3 more days.

I lost another few pounds after surg, down to my lowest weight in over a year! Woo Hoo!

Hi all. Just wanted to report my first month out from surgery was okay. Had trouble getting in fluids, Protein shakes are gross, many pills for infections. Nothing tastes good. However, that being said. I lost 51.2lbs. Not bad for 1 month with no exercise at all. It's tough to exercise when you are lightheaded and nauseous.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
