Anyone just starting the process???

Recommended Posts

Shylady, I don't know anything about insurance companies or appeals because I have Kaiser, but I wanted to come and give you a virtual hug. This will all work out. You've done everything you were suppposed to. If I were you, I'd start a new topic about appeals or search the forum for information. You want to get as much response as possible. I'm sure there are others that went through the appeal process and are now sitting on the Loser's Bench. Hang in there!

If the denial was based only on the missing psy eval, there should be no problem with a quick appeal process. Just take deep breaths. I'm sure your doctor's office is used to the red tape and the process - they will help you out.

I am getting VSG in March. Wish I could get it now:0) but have to get all of my testing done. My insurance is with Aetna and they require 3 mos of dieting. My dr says he is sure I will get approved. It was a little discouraging, because he is not a big VSG advocate and wanted me to get the lap band, but he said he would do it, because it is my decision. I am excited to soon be on this weight loss journey. I know it is going to be a lot of work on my end, but I am ready for the challange!

So I talked to a person (not the one that is handling my case but was helpful) at the doctors office. They said they had not gotten the denial yet. She said she could see that they did send the pych eval but she would re-fax it again just in case.

So Saturday I actually got the denial letter in the mail. Of course it said not pych eval was included and that it would require an appeal.

So today I will call the doctor's office again and see if they got the letter or fax them a copy of mine. Maybe they can get this straighten out without all this appeal process.

Feeling alittle discouraged, I know I need to be patient but that is not one of my strong points.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
