Hope all goes well with this pregnancy. I hope you keep us all updated.

Thanks,

Ange,

Thank you for the update. I'm glad your morning sickness seems to be subsiding. Congratulations too on your continued weight loss.

My surgeon said it would be safe to begin trying after my weight has been stable for a couple of months so that is my plan. I hope to get to goal by the end of January and then start trying after I've been there for a while.

I wish you continued health through this second trimester!

I had two babies at over 300 pounds. I had beautiful healthy babies. The only thing that was hard for me was that I wanted to loose weight before the second and he was a suprise when I was working out and dieting. (which wasn't working anyway). I didn't have any issue with Diabetes or anything. My blood pressure was never high and I carried to full term. My first baby that is now 21 months was 8lbs 12oz and my second one that came just two months ago was 9lbs 11oz. Big babies run in my family. My sis is small and both her babies were over 8lbs. Anyway...my issues were phyisical it was really hard on my knees carrying around that much Fluid and weight. I couldn't play with my little one while pregnant and I still find it difficult. I have major lower back issues and my boobs got even bigger with the second one. So I guess what I am saying is if I could have been thinner before getting pregnant with the second one I would do it. Now I am having the surgery in Jan. and I just had the Mirena inserted so I don't have to worry about another pregnancy accident. But I think that I want to try for another one in about 5 years. I hope that helped. I know we forget what it was like when we were pregnant before. Just coming off the whole experience..even if you have a healthy pregnancy it's no fun when your overweight.

almost 22 weeks and had a scan that shows everything is very very normal... all the measurements and functions were spot on average/**normal** got to love that! i am told however that i i wont know if i got a big baby till im much further along.

i know i got a comedian baby tho.... ***baby says*** i want choc...... (only twice now) but i cant tolerate choc!!!! i eat it anyway and.... rot roe!!!! lol problems!! i havent worked out weather the tolerance level for fryed food/smells is from the baby or from the surgury!!! hope its the surgury tho. i have trouble going into a any space where there is fryed food cooking???? (one way to cure the old kfc habbit) again... very happy for that! it seems that there are many things that i have gone off since the surgury/pregnancy. most of them are positive dislikes. hell i have even started a few new habbits that i know are way better for me...and bub, not to mention my daughter! so.... many positives still comming. still craving some sweet naughty stuff... but...if i dont cook it, i cant eat it. moral of the story is dont cook it!!!! hmmm write that down angie!!

cheers

ange.

Hi folks!!!

been awhile. well im happy to report that i am now 33.1/2 weeks and doing well. i havent been on for awhile as i been getting a bit tired at night and just havent managed to get in here and have an update!

A few weeks ago I was put through the gestational diabeties training because the docs were unable to get an accurate reading with the glucose challenge test. (it was wayyyyy too much sugar so i lost both attempts) the docs wanted me to track my blood sugar levels just incase so it just made sence to get me in the programe. well it turned out that in all the testing i have come up with some low readings with a few hints of hypoglycima. After seeing some specialists at our big mothers hospital, i was quickly reasured that the low readings i was getting were pretty normal and expected. most women experience some low readings at times. well i have to admit that i was told to start eating more, and as my low readings were comming in i was actually eating more, (feeling sick from eating all the extra morning/afternoon teas all over the place) but it was doable. i just had to keep my carb intake up.... OH and NOT give up the coffee milk!!! (go figure!!! been trying to kick that one for ages!)

I was a bit scared to tell you the truth, but i was reasured that the baby will take what it needs, i just have to worry about looking after myself. it turns out that the docs were just making sure they were not missing anything by putting me in the progie.

I am told i should have a normal 8Lbs baby this time (first baby was 9 14 so i was very happy hearing THAT) and that i am doing very well. I feel better than i have in years even at this later stage of pregnancy. im still up and down the stairs with no major issues and have only just last week stopped my exercise class, doctors orders.

Its amazing how physically better off i have been this time around in comparision to the last pregnancy. im doing soooo much more this time around and copeing 500% better with movement and life in general. its nice to still have a spring in my step when i go into the maternity clinic and hardly even look pregnant against some of the girls that have that HUGE bump and Gummy leg/hip. my weight has been up and down a little like 1 lbs up 1 down.....1 up....... 2lbs down.... so overall i have still lost weight, even managing to crack the 50Kg for those of you who follow the Kg measurements <grins>

ohhhh 1 excelent thing to mention, i have had NO itchiness of the skin. i have been shrinking and growning at the same time which also means no 'extra' stretch marks lolol happy days. some of my skinny friends have got 1 inch wide streachies from child bearing and im truely happy to report this isnt the case for those of us with/previously had, a generous beam.

till soon everyone.

Ange.

It is such a relief to find somebody in a similar situation. I'm 16 weeks pregnant, 19 weeks out from surgery, and have only just recently found out I am pregnant (they missed it the first 14 weeks thinking it was everything else under the sun so many tests but nobody thought pregnancy!). It was quite a shock but a happy shock. I have been sick every day of the pregnancy but thought it was just the sleeve surgery - it's slowly getting better and I can eat a lot more now (a whole salad sandwich in under 10 mins easily without throwing up). But a little bit of chocolate or some twisties which i crave and its spew city. I have lost 13kg but now im getting so hungry i can't see the weight loss continuing, though i wish it would i'm so close to my healthy bmi goal, just a few kilos away.

Congrats on your pregnancy Ange and I look forward to reading more about it especially how the last few weeks and birth go :001_tt2:

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
