I had to return a skirt I had ordered today as it was miles too big!!! I couldn't believe it and was certain that I was still in a UK size 18. I didn't have the confidence to order a 16 as the size 18 jeans I wear every day don't seem that big on me. Anyway it has gone back and a 16 is now on order. I haven't lost any more weight lately but I definitely seem to be losing inches as a couple of people have commented on my weight-loss recently. It's really great to be able to wear lovely clothes again and not the tents that were 'comfy' xxxxxxxxxxxx

Great feeling isnt it?

I bought some pants the other day, I tried on the (Australian sizes) 12 and they were just a little firm around the waist, so I bought the 14. Well, of course, an hour of wear and they'd relaxed a little and now I have these enormous size 14 cargo pants! Cant take them back as I wore them, but I dont even care.

That is so COOL Helen - congratulations -- you should have ordered a 14 - by the time the 18 is returned and the 16 is on it's way - you may need the 14 ... oh gee darn, wouldn't that be just awful?

Hi Helen, thats's really great. I share your excitment vis a vis the clothing front. I have gone a bit mental on eBay as there are so many items I can buy now. Must learn restraint! I am now approx size 16 on top and 14 on bottom, or very close. I have nearly lost the weight of a small friend of mine. No wonder I felt tired all the time carrying her around with me.

All the best, Jane

It's great isn't it to look in the mirror and actually like what you see for a change. I know I will be at the large end of a 16 as I was this weight and size about 12 years ago so I think I have a good idea of what will fit now. Size 14 is a long way away at the moment. Even when I was young I couldn't get into 14 bottoms when I was around 154lbs (I'm 5'8") as I have a rather large bum!!!

I am going to an 80s party on Saturday as.....wait for it.....Madonna! I have got all the gear together...rara tutu, leg warmers, fingerless lace gloves, etc. etc. I shall upload the photos for you to have a laugh at. I would never have dared do that a few years ago! I am going to look a prat but who cares.......???!!!

Congrats Helen. I just ordered a size 12 jeans today. My 14s are too big now, and wasn't that long ago I was in 16s since surgery. Shrinking down.......love that! If I order something and it's too small, I just save it until it isn't. Wearing a T-shirt today that was way too tight when I received it; now it's still a little tight across the bust, but fits elsewhere. :tongue_smilie:

Hey Helen,

I got described as a MILF at the w/e, I know its rude but what a great thing for me. I have been asexual for years in my own head. Still got 2 stone to go though.

Cheers, Jane

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
