I was doing so well, in the first four weeks I lost 31lbs! I was cruising along until my body caught on and STOPPED!!!! I have now been at a stall for 2 weeks. I am losing my motivation fast and the desire to exercise is quickly fading but still exercising. When I first realized I was at a stall I told myself that I didn't need to post anything as I have read so many other posts and seems almost everyone stalls......but I can't take it any longer. Seems to me most of you stall for a few days or a week, anyone have a longer stall this early post op? My frustrations are growing quickly. I didn't measure myself so not sure if I'm losing any inches, however my clothes don't seem to be any bigger. I am eating between 700-810 calories a day. I feel like I am actually going to be "that" person that this doesn't work for :)

Hey! I am 4 weeks post op. I lost 20lbs the first 2 weeks, but after that I had almost 2 weeks of not losing a pound! It was so horrible, but I got on the scales yesterday morning and I dropped 5lbs! I'm hoping it keeps going this time. It was really worrying me too, but I had read so much on here about people having stalls especially earlier out. I also tend to weigh every morning. They say it's best once a week. Hang it there! You will start losing again. You have to with the low calorie intake that you are on.

Truly, 31 lb in four weeks is HUGE weight loss and there's going to be a very large percentage of Water and Fluid in that loss. Your body has no more of that to give up. Fat loss is a lot slower and your body eventually does rebalance itself, retain a bit more Fluid etc. A two week plateau, honestly, its nothing.

I'm banded, not sleeved, but I plateaued out for months at a time. You just keep on doing the right things and eventually it moves again. You've no doubt still got a lot of great, satisfying and regular weight loss ahead of you once this current plateau breaks, but wait until you're down to the last 30 or 40lb, that can take three times as long as the first 70! It gets very unpredictable and quite frustrating. But if you stay true, it will pay off in th end.

I think you are doing FANTASTIC! In my first 4 weeks, I lost 21 lbs. and at 6 weeks my loss was 29 lbs. There are some people I remember reading posts from, on another board, that lose in large chunks quickly and then plateau for a while. Good luck! Like Charitymarroquin said, you are doing the right things and eventually your calorie deficit will give your body no choice but to drop the pounds.

Hello gonnaloseweight,

Just remember your name and stay positive. You have came a long way and this is just the beginning. I am sure you will go far, if you just hang in there. I have been going through so much since I first decided to have surgery, but it has all been for the good so far. I just found out that I got approved for the sleeve and now I have a surgery date Dec. 2.

If I would have given up because of the things that happened along the way, I would not be where I am today. I know that MY JOURNEY is really just beginning and I know there may be many more hurdles I have to jump over, but I am willing to do the jumping or come on here to get the help and support I need if something does occur along the way. Thank you for being so honest and asking for help. You are helping me and others and you may not even know it. 31 pounds is so amazing. Please post pictures as you continue to lose. I know that you are------->>>>>>gonnaloseweight!!!

I am sure some of us have to take small steps and some take giant steps, but they will all get us to the finish line, if we keep on taking the steps, So hang in there, don't give up, Don't Quit!!!

It's OVER!!!!! My stall has left...I hope. I got on the scale this morning and I have starting losing again. Only 3lbs but we all need to lose one at a time, right? I am so happy three weeks with no lose was really tough, however I see that I have come out of it successfully and look forward to moving on down the scale! And will battle the next stall just as hard! Thanks again for all of your support!

So glad that your stall is over. I didn't loose any weight during my third week and then it started comming off again. I think most people go through this from time to time. We just have to hang in there.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
