Shapers

Recommended Posts

I have a couple of friends who swear by Spanx. They both had gastric bypass and can't stand the excess skin especially the pannus. I can barely tolerate wearing panties therefore I'll just be "lumpy" until I absolutely have to wear some sort of shaper.

Spanx are a bit pricey, and I've heard you can find better bargains on ebay and Amazon.< /span>

Sometimes you can find good deals on them on HSN (or QVC), too.

I like Spanx because they are comfortable and also you can keep wearing them even when technically they are a size or two too large and they still do a reasonable job of keeping everything in and not jiggling.

It's like a girdle. I found good ones at barenecessities.com

I was looking something for the arms and they have it.

I'm going to give a try, probably I save a Tummy Tuck using them.

Ugh, I'm with you. I absolutely dont know HOW people can go about their everyday lives strangled by these things. I hate them. My view is that if I need a shaper to look OK in a certain outfit, then the outfit is not right for me. I always feel sick within the hour of trying to wear something like this and eventually, the constriction of my abdomen will give me horrible gas pains and crippling cramps.

The idea is to help the skin attach to the body, I think I prefer to try this and not to pay for a plastic surgery later...

I know that the best thing I found for my but and bottom half is using a good pair of tights...... Walmart had some really "nude" looking ones with no seams that were cheap.....$5 each.....that held my tummy and but in the right place.

I can loose a whole size when I use them...... these were comfortable enough to wear in the summer (especially if you have to wear hose anyways......)

I like them..... have thought about the other products...... I wasa lot younger the first time I lost weight.....and had not had the c section...... so stuff mostly right back where it came from.....

this time I have this annoying hanging thing above my c section.....so I am thinking of one of them....... though I just haven't really wanted to do it!

And I hate underwear too! Weird!

My Spanx doesn't hurt. Maybe the stuff they have in Australia is more like the old-fashioned girdles?? I rarely notice I have my Spanx on.

I also use compression shorts & tops from UnderArmour. They are designed to exercise in so they have a lot of give.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
