I have veins you guys! Can you believe that? All I see now on my hands are veins. My belt that I purchased a million years ago when I lost weight and went down to 275 has extra holes tha tI made. Well, I have to make more holes now. That belt was from Lane Bryant and was for a size 26. I am also pass that 275 weight loss from before, WOOT WOOT! I am able to cross my legs better now. I don't know my exact size but I do have a few XL shirts that I can fit. I am too scared to go to the store to try clothes on because I don't want to be disappointed. The very best NSV is that I am happy with the face that I see in the mirror now.

I hope that everyone will achieve there goals and continue to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Later Losers!

Had the best day today and all because I made the best choice and had WLS 2 years ago!

Found a team to run the Ragnar Relay from Miami to Key West with. I never would have considered running to my mailbox before surgery.

Confirmed for a softball team that starts Friday. I retired 10 years ago because my weight was making it too hard on my knees. I can't wait to start playing again!

I went running twice today because I can!

Got my lab results back from my rheumatologist and for the first time in years my inflammation labs are normal!

Had to buy new jeans... size 8!!

Happy dancing all day!!

On the tip top of my "why to have WLS" (besides health) was the desire to ski again. I grew up skiing and haven't skied in 23 years (partly because I moved to the south and partly because I weighed 325 pounds). This weekend, I got my wish. Skied with my boys. It was absolutely wonderful. post-196853-14216322377204_thumb.jpg

You know when you had weight loss surgery when.....

NSV...You finish jogging on the treadmill at the gym. The person on the treadmill next to you say's thanks for motivating me to stay for an hour. They introduce themselves and you find out they are a high school physical education teacher.

I'm 13 days post-op. For the first time in LITERALLY years, I've slept straight through the entire night.

Sorry to the guys, but my biggest NSV's are girl things.

1. Buying pretty, lacey underwear size 7 vs. presurgery size 10

2. Yesterday I bought 5 new bras in Victoria's Secret and I haven't been able to shop there since 2005.

Then there are all the other greats like no more medications for high blood pressure & high cholesterol. Having a BMI that is Overweight vs. Morbid Obese. Having my daughter tell her friends that her Mom is now "skinny".

Thanks for posting this topic. I love reading everyone's posts.

Only 3 weeks post surgery here, but my bathrobe actually wraps around me now. None of that big triangle of gap in the front any more!

The cheekbones that got me compliments back in college? They're still there! Who knew! :)

I had to move my car seat up a bit. The belly doesn't need as much accommodating as it used to!

Only down about 30 now and a long way to go... but so many changes happening!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
