Do you have muscle relaxers? What about a heating pad? I have always heard those help.

Well, I got a call through to the Doc's PA on Tuesday

Well I got a call through to my Doc's PA on Tues, around 3:30pm. After I described the cramp, she said I should come on back through their ER and get an ultrasound for a DVT.

We got back to the hospital about 5pm, waiting HOURS until the tech was available, and the picture reveiled that, yes, I have a clot.

So it was back into stir for me again while they pump some Lovenox into me and figure out how to get me home on a coumadin regimen.

At least they put me back up in the penthouse!

THEN a routine check of my potassiium showed that it had dived back down into dicey territory and they started an IV drip.

So.. first we have to get that back up, then they have to teach me how to give myself lovenox shots THEN we can try to get me the heck back outta here:confused1:

9around 3:

I am sorry to hear that you are back in the hospital. But I think you are in good hands. I know they took very good care of me there. I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear about your backset. What test did they do to find the blood clot and where is it? Please keep us posted.

Sleeve sista!!! Oh no. That is awful. I am so sorry you are going through this.

Did they tell you where the clot is? Were you having symptoms of low potassium?

Most important did you get a room with a view?

Hope you're feeling better. I'm sorry to hear you've had such trouble with the surgery.

Does everyone have to have a catheter? I'm supposed to get up a dangle my feet over the edge of the bed within 4 hours of having the surgery anyway? Surely if all goes well I could make my own way to the bathroom?

Have a look on the internet for circulation exercises - there are exercises where you can flex your feet/legs/knees (or arms) in certain ways that promote blood circulation which should help with cramping. I sleep on my arms under the pillow at night so I often get pins and needles in my ring and pinky fingers. I'll have a hunt around for the web site for you.

No, not everyone has a catheter. Dr. Aceves' doesn't use them (thank God) ... I did have to have my urine measured each time I went to be sure the output was good, but I'd rather that than a catheter.

Oh I forgot about that Vegas. I am so glad I didn't have a catheter. I have enough pain in that area every day from my interstitial cystitis. When I went to the urologist, he used one and it was painful. I am REALLY glad Dr. Aceves doesn't use one. I forgot all about them measuring the output. I remember now thinking that IV the first 24 hours was sure filling that measuring cup!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
