I too live in Dallas, or to be exact right on the Dallas/Lancaster line.

Had surgery on June 2 this year and have made my goal. Promised myself a new pair of pants if I did it before my birthday, but now it has been too cold to shop! Guess I will just tie a rope around my "fat pants" and wear them till the spring thaw!

Hey y'all,

I'm near Dallas. I live in Waxahachie and work in Lancaster. I was banded on Aug. 4, 2006 by Dr. Jay. I'm going in for my 4th. fill soon.

I have had three fills, didn't start till I was 9 weeks out, had some restriction, didn't need one last month and doubt if I will this month. - I get my checkup on the 15th. My surgery was done by Dr. Sanchez in Mexico and Dr. Maese is my fill doctor. His Ferris office is only 15 miles from me.

I have the Vanguard band. Dr. Jay told me it can hold about 14 cc so it is probably the same as yours.

I should really start checking the dates on these threads before I start reading them. This one was started back in 2004....LOL My wife is a patient of Dr. J's, almost one year out. We live between Dallas and Houston.

Hi !

My name is Julie and I was also banded by Dr. Jay. I was banded 01/19/2006 . I have lost 186 lbs to date but I am starting to really struggle w/ food addiction.. I am finding myself eating things I know I shouldn't but I have started excerising .. I would like to start coming to the support groups but I don't know where they are and who meets where .. I live in Dallas not too far from Medical City .. Does anyone know where and when the support groups meet ??

wow Julie, that is amazing, congratulations on your ongoing success.

I don't know where the support meetings are either. I am hoping to find one north of Dallas if at all possible. (hate that Dallas traffic and I live in Shady Shores.)

Support meetings for Dr. J's patients are the first Thursday of the month, first floor of Medical City, at 7:00 pm, in the cafeteria area. My wife has only been to one. It's a long trip for us.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
